Defending World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz continued to set a whirlwind
pace in the sprint car world with a one-two finish in the south. Schatz raced
his ParkerStore sponsored No. 15 J&J with Shaver power to victory on Friday
night near Houston, Texas and came home second Saturday in Mississippi.

“I would have been happier had we won both nights to tell you the truth,”
said Schatz. “Things went really well in Houston and we came up a bit short in
Mississippi. We’ve built our program to expect a certain level of results and
we’ve got to continue pushing ourselves every night. This team still has a
relatively new group of guys working together and we’re still working towards
getting better.”

The Fargo, North Dakota racer finished inside the top three in eight of
the first nine races for a strong early season. He maintains the lead in the WoO
series standings. Schatz and the ParkerStore Team use K&N Engineering Products.
The K&N Airbox works flawlessly,” he said. “We are able to attain maximum
horsepower. I have to thank all the folks at K&N for their dedication to
building a superior product.”
On Friday night Schatz dominated the program at Houston Raceway Park near Bayton,
Texas. He won the heat, the dash event and led all 35 laps of the feature.
Following the event the ParkerStore team traveled to Magnolia, Mississippi and
Pike County Speedway where they were one of 31 cars on the field. During the
35-lap feature Schatz started inside the second row. He pulled next to early
leader Joey Saldana several times as the two raced side-by-side for the lead.
Rubber began to come in around the bottom groove of the 3/8-mile dirt oval and
there was no safe way to pass. Schatz raced to his first second place finish of
the season behind Saldana.
“We figured the rubber would come in, but hoped we had enough time to get the
lead,” said Schatz. “We battled Joey pretty good there for a few laps, but
didn’t get to race in lapped traffic when there was still a top and bottom
groove. That happens in racing I guess, but we’re focused on winning so the
second place finish does not sit real well with this team. It’s motivation for
next week in Tennessee where hopefully we can be in the hunt for another win.”
The ParkerStore Team returns to action next weekend when the World of Outlaws
makes it debut at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.

The Yamaha Rhino is taking the utility vehicle world by storm. Originally
developed for work it has become one of the most sought after off-road toys.
Air Intake for Yamaha YXR660 Rhino
K&N Engineering developed a 63 Series AirCharger Intake System (63-1119)
for the 2004 though 2007 Yamaha YXR660 Rhino. The powder coated aluminum intake
tube is topped off with an oversized K&N High Flow XStream® Top Filter for
optimum air flow. K&N also includes a K&N DryCharger wrap which goes over the
top of the K&N Air Filter. With the K&N DryCharger wrap in place, dirt and
water are kept out of the K&N Air Filter increasing service intervals.
Power Gain Chart for Yamaha YXR660 Rhino with K&N Air Intake
A simple bolt-on with K&N's complete AirCharger Intake offers the stock
Yamaha Rhino YXR660 an additional 4.35 horsepower.
"K&N's Research and Development team has been working overtime," said K&N
Powersports Brand Manager John Jump. "Starting from the ground and working
their way up, the team opened up the stock Rhino with the development of this K&N Air Intake allowing it to breathe freely and provide maximum power."
"An included chrome top crank case breather mounts on the air intake tube and connects to the engine's crank case vent hose," said K&N Powersports Manager Johnny Jump. "We also provide a main
jet to add increased fuel and all mounting hardware to keep everything in place
during those rough off-road excursions."

The Toyota Corolla is one of the best selling cars in the world. It is
manufactured in Japan, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Malaysia,
China, Taiwan, Pakistan, South Africa, Brazil, Turkey, India and Venezuela.
Air Intake System for Toyota Corolla
K&N Engineering, Inc. has released a new 69-Series Typhoon
Air Intake System (69-8754TR)
in powder coated red for the 2002 through 2007 Toyota Corolla 1.4 and 1.6 liter
engines. Designers chose the color red because it is a very popular color for
these models in Europe.
The Typhoon Air Intake Systems offer the best possible horsepower with a more
stylish appearance. K&N Engineering's high flow technology is applied to a large
conical open element K&N Air Filter (RU-4960).
This provides more surface area for huge increases in airflow and power you can
feel. The Mass Airflow sensor is integrated into the tube through the vent for a
nicer look, said K&N Product Development Technician Patrick Jacobs.
The design of the Corolla played a major role in the making of this K&N Cold Air Intake System. The replacement K&N Air Filter is placed on top of the engine, in
place of the original air box. The aluminum tube fits directly onto the throttle
body. The K&N Filtercharger® Air Filter is
installed onto the other end of the
tube where it can provide the engine a virtually free flow of air for more power.
There is a thorough development procedure for all K&N 69-Series Typhoon Air Intakes which requires the use of multiple test vehicles. The Toyota Corolla is
one of the best selling cars in Europe and finding donor vehicles was not a
problem.
Sprint car racer Jonathan Allard picked up two podium finishes in the Golden
State Challenge Series season opening at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico,
California.
Jonathan Allard's K&N Filters No.0
In the GSC Series the top eight fastest cars who survive the heat races make
it to the dash. Allard survived and started the dash from the outside of row
two. He was able to get around pole sitter Jim Richardson early and chased
leader Andy Forsberg. Allard closed up on Forsberg in the K&N Filters, Red Line
Oil No. 0 but ran out of time. He managed to land an outside front row starting
spot.
In the heat Forsberg got the jump but Allard stayed tight to the rear bumper of
the defending Silver Dollar Speedway track champ. As the pair rounded turn four
on lap two Allard took command of the race. He went on to claim his first win of
the season.
Allard and Williams Motorsports hoped to repeat their win on the second night of
racing. In the 40 lap main event Allard started at third. At the midway point
Allard moved up, but during the last part of the race it became a battle for
first place. Allard had trouble down the backstretch and ended the race in third
place.
After two nights of action Allard is in a tie with Tim Kaeding for the Golden
State Challenge Series point lead. Allard uses K&N Engineering Products. “K&N is
the best for our cars, the oil and air filters are easy to use and maintain. We
just wash, assemble and race. The K&N Carbon Fiber Airbox works great. K&N
products are on all our vehicles and will help us get a second Golden State
Challenge Title in 2007.”
The next race for Allard is at Hanford’s Kings Speedway in Hanford, California.

Stewart also does his own sanctioning. He ran nine out of 20 Protrucks at the
Pikes Peak International Hill Climb last summer. The Protruck Class was new in
Colorado Springs and Charles McDowell’s win at 14:33.964 set the Class record.
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has been an annual event since 1916.
There are no guardrails, 200 foot drops and 156 hair raising turns. The course
is part dirt and part pavement.
“For years we raced in Barstow on July 4th,” said Stewart. “In 2006, it was time
to try one of the most recognized races in the world. The heritage at Pikes Peak
is amazing. I wanted Protruck to be part of its history.”
Protruck uses the latest technology in space frame construction to provide a
high performance race truck. The maximum engine size allowed in the small block
V-8 class is a 360 CI, with a maximum compression ratio of 9.5:1. There is a
choice of Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet, GMC and Toyota.
“We have the highest finish rate in Protrucks because we use proven products
like K&N,” Stewart said. “Everyone knows K&N is the best choice for off-road
filters. Their reputation has been top notch for decades and we are proud to
have the K&N name associated with the Protruck Racing Series.”
