The supercharged Mini Cooper S is a stylish subcompact with a
space efficient interior that makes seating more comfortable. The supercharged
Cooper S also has more horsepower than the standard Cooper.
Performance Air Intake Kit for Mini Cooper S 1.6L
K&N Engineering has developed an Air Induction System (57A-6006)
for the 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 Mini Cooper S 1.6 liter engine. It is designed with the Apollo, a specially designed K&N Air Filter
and enclosure.
The K&N Apollo bolts onto the Mini Cooper's intake. The Apollo
is a closed system designed to eliminate hot air problems and provide the
benefits of an open cone filter and standard airbox in one unit.
Simply remove the stock airbox and replace it with the K&N Air Induction System for
additional air flow. The stabilizer with brackets allows the K&N Air
Induction System
to stay firmly in place. Once in place the

helps add performance by allowing free flowing air into the throttle body of
the Mini Cooper.
All adaptors for the K&N Air Induction Systems are made from high quality
materials such as steel, aluminum, silicone or reinforced nylon to ensure
longevity. It takes 90 minutes or less to install this kit with simple hand
tools.
Large and powerful motorhomes and super duty passenger vans come in an
array of sizes with varying wheelbases, chassis and lengths. Ford builds
these behemoths in many different configurations. Despite their size, most are
very easy to drive because of the strong suspension and power controls for easy
steering and braking.

K&N Engineering has developed a 77 Series High-Flow Performance Intake System (77-2570KTK)
in textured black for the models listed below. K&N dynamometer tests show an estimated
horsepower gain of 17.48 @ 4101 on the stock 2006 Ford E-350 6.8 liter V-10
engine.

The factory air filter and intake track design restricts air flow. The K&N Air Intake System is designed to provide excellent filtration while being less restrictive, resulting in more power.

Travis Kvapil went to Martinsville Speedway in the No 6. K&N Engineering Ford
F-150 for his 100th Craftsman Truck Series race at one of his favorite tracks.

In his best qualifying effort of the 2007 season, Kvapil started second.
However, he was unable to keep his track position. He started at the outside and
it was a difficult place to be at the drop of the green flag. Kvapil dropped
back into 4th position before he was able to get to the inside of the track.

In the early part of the race, Kvapil told the K&N crew his truck was a little
tight. Crew chief Mike Beam planned a one-stop strategy around lap 60 and Kvapil
adjusted his line to accommodate the problem. At lap 73 the caution flag flew
for a wreck and Kvapil hit pit road for tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment.
Kvapil restarted in eighth position but his F-150 continued to have problems. At
lap 191, the K&N Ford went back to pit row for more adjustments. Kvapil
restarted in the 15th position with 50 or so laps remaining. He was unable to
regain his position and took a 14th place finish.
“We fought tight all day,” said Kvapil. “We pitted that second time because we
had nothing to lose. It was a gamble and it didn’t pay off but we had to try
something. When we went back out to the track we couldn’t get position. We hoped
that we’d be a contender at the end, but we got ourselves in traffic and we
couldn’t do anything to get back to the front. We’re disappointed with our
finish.”
Kvapil and the No.6 K&N Engineering Team are ninth in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
Series point standing, 216 points out of the lead.
“Travis will be running the K&N Filters No. 6 Truck at Kansas Speedway on April
28,” said Rory Connellan of Roush Racing. “It will be good to be back on a track
that is 1 ½ miles. A good run there can move us up a couple of spots. It’s still
early enough in the season to turn around. We’re not out of this series by any
means.”

K&N Engineering is proud to have completed International Commission of Karting - Federal International Automobile (CIK-FIA) homologation of
RK-1000, a K&N Airbox designed for Karts. The CIK-FIA evaluated our product through a series of tests and deemed it acceptable for
racing.
Air Box Designed for Karts
The CIK-FIA official stamp and seal is on the air box molding. The K&N Airbox is now accepted world wide and officially approved by
the CIK-FIA for competition.
"RK-1000 is made to withstand the rigors and harsh environments of track
competition," said K&N Air Filter Product Manager, Joost Adriaans. "There is
also a M6 nut molded in the top of the K&N Airbox for mounting purposes. This
saves time in competition."
The K&N Airbox comes with two intake restrictors with a 23 mm inside diameter.
These restrictors are also sold separately. Restrictors are packaged as a pair
and are also available in the 29 mm inside diameter size. Part
85-2000 has a 29 mm inside diameter and
85-2001 has a 23 mm inside
diameter. "Intake restrictors are there for two purposes, to create smooth air
flow into the K&N Airbox and to decrease sound to meet noise restriction
requirements at many tracks," said Adriaans. "The class you are
racing in determines the set of intake restrictors needed."
