The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms, California hosted
a USMC Safety Stand Down. More than 5,000 military personnel and civilians
attended the desert event.

Several grandstands filled up to watch the stunt bike culture
Motorcycle safety was the theme of the day. “It is one of the hottest
issues right now in the Marine Corps,” said Master Sergeant Brian Richardson.
“We wanted to educate the troops, entertain them and have experts available from
places like K&N Filters who can talk to them about products.”

SPEED-TV filmed the event
K&N had a booth open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. to promote its products and give
support to the troops. “Most of the Marines who were there knew all about K&N
filters and air intake systems,” said Lisa Watson, of K&N Engineering. “They
came in waves to our booth all day long. Most already have K&N products on their
vehicles. The few that didn’t have K&N were told by their buddy’s it’s the first
vehicle upgrade they should get because of the additional horsepower and
filtration.”
SPEED-TV and motorcycle stunt riders joined the enthusiasts for the day. The
road to Victory Field was shut down so the crowd could watch the show. Several
grandstands were filled to see stunt bike riders in action and to pass on a
message to wear safety gear while riding. The event will be televised on the
Super Bikes show sometime in 2008.
Richardson rides a Screaming Eagle Harley Davidson, drives a Ford F-350 Super Duty and
a 1985 Ford Mustang GT. “All my vehicles are equipped with K&N products,” he
said. “I live out here in the desert and K&N protects all my engines from the
sand and dust.”
The event was very successful, said Richardson. "We met our goal to make this
safety stand down interesting, fun and informative," he said. "Next year it will
expand and become an annual event."
Two K&N Engineering sportsman racers, Dan Fletcher and Shawn Langdon, were
crowned as champions at the final race of the 2007 season at the NHRA POWERade
Triple-A World Finals at Pomona, California.

Super Stock racer Dan Fletcher also won his 50th NHRA national event at
Pomona. This was his third NHRA National Event win in a row. He won at Richmond,
Virginia and Las Vegas, Nevada prior to Pomona.
Dan Fletcher hits fiftieth win
Fletcher won the war in Super Stock at Pomona driving his Chevrolet Camaro,
beating Michael Iacono in the final round. Fletcher now has 32 wins in Super
Stock, sixteen wins in Stock and a pair in Super Gas using K&N Engineering
products. He uses K&N oil filter (HP-3002) on his Camaro. “The nut on the bottom
of K&N Oil Filters is an ingenious invention,” said Fletcher. “They are very
easy to change. Thanks to K&N oil filters my engines have outlasted,
outperformed, and stayed clean.”
“Dan’s total number of wins in both Super Stock and Stock are the best in the
history of the sport,” said K&N Engineering’s Bob Harris. “It’s a very exclusive
club. It’s difficult to win one national event your whole racing career let
alone fifty. I’ve been racing since 1989 and have been lucky enough to win four.
I’ve raced with guys for 30 years who have never won a NHRA event.” There are
only a dozen drivers who have won fifty or more races.
Shawn Langdon won the Super Comp championship in 2007. Langdon uses K&N
Engineering products and beat Gary Stinnett in the final round at Pomona.
Langdon also drove in the Top Dragster and Lucas Oil alcohol dragster classes over the
2007 season.
Fletcher and Langdon will be back in January for the NHRA Winternationals.

Air Intake for Honda Accord
K&N Engineering has designed a high flow air intake system (69-1209TS) in
silver for the 2007 Honda Accord 2.4 liter engine, 2006 Honda Accord 2.4 liter
engine, 2005 Honda Accord 2.4 liter engine and the 2004 Honda Accord 2.4 liter
engine.

For additional performance K&N replaced the original air box, intake tube and
air filter with an all new cold air intake system.
K&N dynamometer tests show a 7.13 horsepower gain at 5111 RPM.
K&N performance air intake systems provide an increase in horsepower while
providing excellent filtration. The K&N lifetime replacement air filter
(RU-4870) on this air intake is protected by a powder coated heat shield.
The heat shield is used to isolate engine heat away from the cool incoming air
to the engine to help produce more power.
The heat shield assembly is installed into the engine compartment using the
factory mounting points. A bracket supports the tube which is mounted to the
throttle body. This air intake system uses all the factory emission parts and
positions the MAS in a location that doesn't require reprogramming to the
factory computer. Three vehicles and 80 power measuring dynamometer runs were performed in the design and development of this air intake to ensure the final product provided the best performance and filtration possible while working with the Accord's emissions system.
The
69-1209TS can be easily
installed in 90 minutes or less and is
backed by the K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
Marshall Stewart is in only in the 4th grade, but his motorcross accomplishments
are already a huge part of the K&N's racing family.

Marshall Stewart won the 65cc beginner race
The 10-year-old from Lake Elisnore, California captured first place in the
65cc class and 4th in the vintage class at the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix. “He was the
youngest person entered in the vintage class,” said Marshall’s father Chris
Roberts. “Everyone else in the race was an adult.”
Marshall's trophy is almost as big as he is
Marshall's bikes are equipped with K&N products
The vintage bikes are difficult because there is no suspension. “You can feel
every bump,” said Marshall. “It was fun but I have one more thing to say about
vintage bikes, ouch. My favorite part of 65 class race was winning, the
interviews and the television crews.”
Marshall uses K&N air filter (KA-8088) on his 2006 Kawasaki KX65 and (HA-0300)
on his 1976 Honda XR75. Marshall’s father works for K&N Engineering as a
National Accounts Manager. “We were so glad to have K&N filters on both bikes
this weekend,” he said. “The dust and soot was incredibly thick and both of our
motors were protected. K&N helped give Marshall the extra power he needs to pull
head of the pack and keep our motors strong.”
Roberts also uses K&N products on his tow vehicle. “We travel back and forth
between races all the time,” he said. “I haul a trailer, bikes and parts and my
Nissan Titan needs extra power. With K&N’s
63-6012 on my Titan I gain an
additional 11 horsepower. It makes getting to the track that much easier.”
Marshall has won back-to-back championship wins in the Lake Elsinore Motorcross
Park Summercross Series. “I also raced the 30-plus Vet class,” said Roberts. “I
crashed hard and finished 10th. Racing keeps our family together and allows us
to do activities with friends. It is also about having fun.”
