2007 and 2008 Nissan 350Z uses K&N’s 69-7071TS performance air intake. This air intake uses two intake tubes to smooth and straighten air-flow. When combined with the two K&N high flow cotton air filters it supplies virtually unrestricted air-flow to your engine while providing excellent protection. Two heat shields are also provided to help cool the air entering the engine. Tests show the 69-7071TS provides an estimated gain of 8 horsepower @ 5800 RPM.

Owners of 2003 to 2006 Nissan 350Z’s have a variety of performance air intake systems to choose from. K&N’s 69-7070TB, a blue powder coated intake, and K&N’s 69-7070TP, a polished aluminum cold air intake, can provide an estimated gain of 10 more horsepower. You may also choose K&N’s black non-metallic intakes 57-6013. K&N dyno testing showed these intakes gain around 10 horsepower @ 5500 RPM.

K&N Premium Oil Filters

The K&N Performance Gold® Oil Filter, HP-1008, for the Nissan 350Z was designed with a 1”-hex nut welded to the top of the canister for easy removal. This premium oil filter allows for high oil flow rates while protecting your engine from contaminants that can damage your engine. The HP-1008 uses ultra-thick canister walls for extra strength and durability which helps reduce the risk of damage from loose rocks and debris.

Golden State Challenge Racer Wants to be Crowned King of California

A lot of work, perseverance and good luck paid off for Jonathan Allard at Petaluma Speedway in California. The current Golden State Challenge points leader raced to a top five finish despite a tough night for the Williams Motorsport Team.

There are only eight races remaining in the Golden State Challenge Series until the King of California is crowned. Allard went into the Petaluma race holding a 46 point lead over Tyler Walker.

Allard clocked the third quickest lap in qualifying aboard the K&N Filters No. 0. He started in the third row of his heat race, but there was trouble. The 31-year-racer was in the second corner on the opening lap when another car forced him to take evasive action. Allard popped a wheelie and hit the turn two wall. He damaged the right rear of his car and was out of the heat.

The Williams Motorsports Team fixed the damage and Allard returned to action for the night’s 12 lap semi event. He took the lead all the way through and won a transfer to the main event. Allard played it safe and was able to maintain the series point lead even though he brought home fifth position in the K&N Filters No. 0.

“I poked my nose out a couple of times late in the race to try and pass the lapped traffic,” said Allard. “But I just kept telling myself to focus on finishing. This is what it takes to win championships.”

The Golden State Challenge Series returns to action June 28 in Tulare, California.

Allard uses K&N Engineering products. “K&N has the best air and oil filters on the market,” he said. “We’ve had many racers come to us and discuss the problems they are experiencing with other brands of racing filters that blow the sealing ring. We tell them about K&N, they switch and do not have any more failures. With our K&N air box the maintenance is effortless. Take one look at the champions around the race track and you will see why champions choose K&N.”

Summer X Games 14 is Big Prize for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 1X Driver

The fifth round of the Rally America National Series, Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally was tough for driver Andrew Comrie-Picard. A plastic fan plug came loose after a rough landing early in the Pennsylvania event and his Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 1X engine overheated.

Comrie-Picard’s crew repaired the problem, but the stress on the motor was too much and it blew on day two. “It’s frustrating,” said Comrie-Picard. “It cost us a finish, but this rally was difficult for everybody. The good news is we’re still leading in the standings.”

The factory-backed Subaru Rally Team USA also had a bad weekend. They are Comrie-Picard’s main points rivals and drew a pair of DNF’s (did not finish) in their new competition cars. This means the three positions in the Rally America Championship Series were unchanged with Comrie-Picard ahead of Subaru Rally Team USA by one point. As the lead driver Comrie-Picard will make a guaranteed return trip to the invitation only X Games.

Only the top drivers receive invitations to the high-profile X Games in Los Angeles, California this summer. It will be Comrie-Picard’s third trip.

“We couldn’t have achieved our results so far this season without the support of K&N Engineering,” said Comrie-Picard. “For us to be leading the U.S. championship ahead of the Subaru factory is an accomplishment we can all be proud of. K&N has been our choice for a decade. We work in a high-dust, high speed environment and K&N keeps contaminants out of our engine.”

This summer’s X Games 14 will be broadcast live on ESPN and ABC. “Experience is an asset at the X Games,” said Comrie-Picard. “There are so many talented athletes from around the world excelling at the most extreme sports there are. We are thrilled to be back in 2008.”

CORR Championship Off Road Racing Series at L.A. County Fairplex Great for Todd LeDuc

Todd LeDuc dominated the truck Pro 2 class main events in the Championship Off-Road Racing Series at the Los Angeles County Fairplex in Pomona, California.

Le Duc led every lap on route to his first win of the season for Rockstar Makita Team LeDuc. He repeated the same great performance the next day because of a fortunate inversion of the top qualifiers that moved him from eighth on the starting grid to the pole. An inversion put Todd at the pole because of the luck of the draw. Race officials pulled the number eight and Todd was the number eight qualifier which moved him up to the key position.

Curt Leduc, Todd’s father, called that inversion a gift. Todd had no intention on squandering that good fortune. His plan for the race was to run hard and get away from the field, and that’s exactly what he did, twice.

LeDuc and his Ford with K&N Engineering products were comfortably ahead of second place Scott Taylor when the mandatory yellow flag waved at the midway point of the 18-lap race. LeDuc held his lead on the restart and kept it there.

“This is unbelievable,” said LeDuc after his sixth career CORR victory. “We made some changes on the truck to get it a little bit quicker. I thought they would be conservative when they watered the man made track, but they actually made it worse. I was just looking for anywhere that was dry and had traction.”

Todd’s win was important to the team after various problems hit Curt and Kyle LeDuc in the Pro 4 class feature. Curt started ninth in the 18-lap Pro 4 race and charged up to second place. His runner up finish ended after he was hit from behind and turned sideways in the final corner on the final lap. He went from second to fourth and filed a protest over what he felt was deliberate, unnecessary contact.

Kyle worked his way back through the field after getting a tire stuck and rolled his Ford truck onto its side on the second lap. He finished eleventh. “Overall it was a great weekend,” said Curt LeDuc. “With Todd winning back to back, from the pole both times this team is a real threat. We have the tools to contend for wins in every race. We can still depend on the reliability of K&N air filters.”

The next race in the CORR Series will be at Chula Vista, California on July 26-27.
