Defending Knoxville Raceway 360 sprint car track champion Brian Brown battled against two of the better drivers in the business before pulling away for a special win in Sedalia, Missouri.
Brian Brown's win helps handicapped children at Bay Cliff Health Camp
Brown battled with Jason Johnson and Sprint Cup star Kasey Kahne in the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation (MRMF) car with K&N Engineering products. “The race was a good one,” said the Grain Valley, Missouri driver. “We were fortunate to start on the pole, but after a restart on lap three, Jason was able to slide by me. We were able to pass him, but Kasey got in the action and passed
us both. Kasey and I raced by each other three or four laps and he proved why he’s such great driver.”
Brown has used K&N Engineering air and oil filters for seven years. “Anyone looking for more horsepower and durability should use K&N filters,” he said. “K&N protects my engines and gives me an extra advantage on the track.”
The MRMF benefits the Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay, Michigan. The camp is for handicapped children only, many with special care needs. “I don’t have a whole lot of money myself to donate to the foundation, but I did donate half of my winnings,” said Brown. “I thought it was the least I could do. I’ve always been a big supporter of the foundation and I believe in what they do at the Michigan camp.”
The Pontiac G6 is a mid-size car that was introduced to the public at the 2004 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. With its modern design, strong performance and fuel conscious V6, the Pontiac G6 has become a popular choice in America.
2008 Pontiac G6
K&N Engineering has manufactured a variety of performance products for the Pontiac G6. Our replacement air filters, performance air intakes, and premium oil filters are designed for the driver who wants the most performance out of their car.
REPLACEMENT AIR FILTERS
K&N replacement air filters are designed to increase horsepower and acceleration while protecting vital engine parts. These air filters are washable and reusable and are backed by the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty™. The high flow design can improve engine efficiency and will be the last air filter your Pontiac G6 will ever need.
The 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Pontiac G6 with the 3.9 liter engine and 2005 to 2010 Pontiac G6 with the 3.5 liter engine gets excellent filtration from K&N's 33-2315 high flow air filter. The 33-2315, like all K&N replacement air filters, was custom designed to fit directly into the factory air box. This simple drop-in design makes adding performance to your G6 as easy as removing your disposable paper filter and replacing it with a K&N high flow air filter.
K&N's 33-2296 lifetime air filter, was designed to fit the 2008 and 2010 Pontiac G6 with the 3.5 or 2.4 liter engine (OEM 22676970) and the 2007 to 2010 Pontiac G6 models with the 3.6 liter engine.
PERFORMANCE AIR INTAKES
K&N's performance air intake for the Pontiac G6 is guaranteed to increase horsepower. Our intakes have lower restriction than the factory air box system resulting in more power and improved engine efficiency. This is accomplished by replacing the entire factory airflow assembly including the filter, air box and air path. Our performance air intakes utilize K&N's high-flow air filter which is designed to provide increased area and dust capacity.
Owners of the 2005 to 2010 Pontiac G6 models that have the 3.5 liter engine use K&N's cold air intake system 69-7202-1TTK. The 69-7202-1TTK uses a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube to smooth and straighten air-flow to your engine. Testing has shown that the 69-7202-1TTK gains 5.22 horsepower @ 5195 rpm.
PREMIUM OIL FILTERS
K&N premium oil filters are designed to satisfy the needs of racers, engine builders as well as the average vehicle owner by providing high oil flow rates with excellent filtration and engine protection. They are covered by a limited warranty to be free from defects in materials and workmanship when installed and replaced using engine and equipment manufacturers recommended service intervals. Our performance oil filters are also ideal for use with high-end synthetic and semi-synthetic motor oils.
The 2006 to 2009 Pontiac G6 that has the 3.9 liter engine and the 2007 and 2010 Pontiac G6 models with the 3.5 liter engine use K&N's canister oil filter HP-2006. K&N's canister oil filters have ultra-thick canister walls for extra durability and protection from loose rocks and debris.
K&N's HP-1017 was designed for the 2007 to 2010 Pontiac G6 with the 3.6 liter engine and has a one inch hex nut welded to the top of the canister for easy removal.
2005 and 2006 Pontiac G6 owners with the 3.5 liter engine use K&N's HP-1001, performance oil filter, for high oil flow rates and excellent filtration.
Pulling 7 G-Forces around corners is part of the intense experience involved in Jet Sprint Boat Racing. The course is raw, competitors run in
water channels that are only 15 feet wide and three feet deep.

Racers and their navigators have to right corner at least 32 times in less than a minute
through a maze of islands. “If you want more G-Forces in a motorsport, buy an aircraft,” said Wicked Racing Team driver Dan Morrison. “It’s like a roller coaster with a throttle on steroids, only way more intense. The first time I raced I felt like my eyeballs vacated from the side left of my head.”

Dan Morrison leads in Super Modified Division after Webb's Slough Track race in St. John, Washington
Jet Sprint Boat Racing is also about memory. Drivers and navigators are given a rotation
schedule one day before a race. “We don’t get to test the boat on the course,”
said Morrison. “We get to look at the track on paper and walk the course. There
are no arrows or flags, just a maze of islands we have to race through from
memory.”
The boats touch the water for the first time during qualifying. If racers miss a
corner, they are eliminated from the competition. “Even the fans feel the
intensity,” said
Morrison. “We can see the crowds and they can see us. There are no blind spots
on the track and that makes it a neat fan sport.”
Morrison won the Super Modified Division at the Webb’s Slough Track in St. John, Washington. “Our times beat all the boats there,” he
said. “That’s including the 1000 plus horsepower methanol injected boats in
other classes.”
Wicked Racing’s boat has a Macraft hull from New Zealand. It is 12 feet two
inches long and is equipped with a 358 cubic inch Chevrolet motor. The boat also
has titanium valve aluminum heads. “We use K&N Engineering oil and air filters,”
said Morrison. “K&N is the reason we’re in the Winner’s Circle. K&N protects our
engines and gives us additional horsepower when we race.”
Sprint Boat Track racing began in New Zealand about 25-years-ago. The sport hit
America about 10-years-ago. “I use to race motorcycles and quads and then I saw
this type of racing on television,” said Morrison. “I went to my first race and
was hooked. I bought a boat and never looked back.
Wicked Racing will be teaming up with Super Boat World Champion Tom Nelson. “We’ll be top contenders in each class,” said Morrison. “We are serious about this sport.”
Round one of the MOTUL FLUID FORCE Moto X Kidz Summer Series put K&N sponsored racer Marshall Stewart first in class in the 65cc Open Class and the 50cc
Mod Class. Stewart also finished third overall in the 65cc Novice Class.

Stewart led flag-to-flag in both races of his first place races at the Lake Elsinore Motocross Park in California. “Marshall finished the last two laps of Moto 2 in the 50cc
Mod Class with a flat rear tire,” said Chris Roberts, Marshall’s father. “He was
ahead of the pack by half-track at the end despite the flat.”

In the 65cc Novice Class Stewart dealt with a full gate of racers and two bad starts. He
pushed through the pack even though he was tired.
“Marshall had two new motors to try out that were tuned and running great,” said Roberts. “He was incredible when he drove. The track at this race was choppy and the dust was horrible. Our K&N air filters protected our two overworked engines and gave Marshall the power he needed
to add three more podium finishes to his championship resume.”
Stewart is only ten-years-old and his parents are his transportation. “We use K&N products exclusively in all of our cars, toys and equipment,” said Roberts. “We even put K&N filters on our trailer generator and the lawn mower Marshall uses to earn his allowance.”
Stewart’s next Moto X race will be at Lake Elsinore Motocross Park in July.
The atmosphere was very different on the track Sunday at the Lucas Oil NHRA SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey. The loss of Scott Kalitta on Saturday affected nearly every person associated with motorsports including Del Worsham.
CSK Team worked quietly in the pits after Scott Kalitta's tragic accident at the Lucas Oil NHRA SuperNationals in Englishtown, New Jersey
Worsham watched as Kalitta’s car hit the sand trap at a high rate of speed. “That was so hard to
see, and impossible to believe,” he said. “I’m just sick. I’ve known Scott forever, and I know all the people at Kalitta Racing. We knew it wasn’t good as soon as we saw it. We think we’re pretty tough in this sport. It’s going to be a while before we know how to deal with this, before we can move on emotionally. My heart goes out to everyone. Scott Kalitta was a champion.”
Team CSK switched NHRA Funny Car wraps from red to blue at Englishtown
Worsham did not climb into his race car on Sunday with the same tension or the same motivation as any normal NHRA race day. Worsham said he was intent and focused and very much interested in doing well on the track, but the triviality of round wins made
everything somewhat surreal.
Worsham and the Checker, Schuck’s Kragen team approached each lap with a steady demeanor and did their best. In the end, huge wins over Gary Scelzi and Robert Hight propelled the CSK Funny Car with K&N Engineering products into the semi-final, where they took part in a great race between two great teams. Points leader Tim Wilkerson posted a solid 4.93, and that was enough to edge ahead of Worsham’s solid 4.95, which ended the CSK driver’s weekend
“We wanted to win every round, but we got edged out by the guy who is just dominating the class right now and there is no shame in that,” said Worsham. “This was a hard day for everyone and so unlike a normal Sunday at the track.”
Despite the tragedy, it was a big weekend for Worsham and his team. He currently sits at No. 5
in his class. “I just wanted to go home and be with my family,” he said. “The Norwalk, Ohio race is just a few days away, so we’ll hold each other tight and I’ll play with my girls. Then we’ll go racing again. We will also miss Scott forever.”
