K&N sponsored racer Dan Fletcher was on fire on The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway during the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals. Fletcher scored his 59th NHRA National event win. “It’s a great day for K&N,” said Fletcher. “My cars outlast and outperform thanks to K&N products.”
K&N was everywhere in the pits, staging area and on the track at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In Super Gas, Mike Ferderer ran his K&N Filters 2003 Pontiac Grand Am. “My best speeds on the track are because of K&N,” he said. “The car is just fast.”
Sheldon Gecker, also known as King Kong ran his 1957 Chevy with K&N products. “Years ago when we first started racing we had nicknames,” said Gecker. “One evening everyone put their name in a hat and I pulled King Kong. It’s stayed with me for almost thirty years.” Gecker uses K&N air and oil filters. “K&N is amazing, I’ve used the same air filter on two different cars for about 5 years,” he said. “I just wash it and it’s good to go. The oil filters protect my engines.”

in Las Vegas. Drivers had to retune and rethink strategies to stay in the winning zone.
All of the drivers who use K&N said they did not worry about track debris or
dust at the track.
K&N sponsored racer Jason Line is off to his best start ever in the 2009 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series. “My K&N hood scoop speaks for itself in performance,” said Line. “It gets air into the engine.”
Pro Stock Champion Warren Johnson has 96 career wins. He was in Las Vegas with his K&N Pontiac. “The K&N hood scoop technology is cutting edge,” he said. “We see the results in the performance.”

Brodix Cylinder Heads, the Mena, Arkansas based company that revolutionized the aftermarket cylinder head business, is considered to be one of the premier high performance aftermarket manufacturers of racing engine products. "Our company started life as a job shop foundry in the 60's, says Greg Brotherton. My grandfather Francis M. Dix founded the company. Then my father, JV Brotherton, brought it to where it is today. The name is a combination of the two."

A family owned business from the beginning, Brodix is steeped in the racing tradition. "Our father had raced since before we were born and we have spent our whole life either at or around a race track of some sort," says Brotherton. Brodix produced the Pontiac logo heads for NASCAR Grand National racing in the 80's and later cast the revolutionary Pontiac big block Pro Stock heads. These heads eventually became the basis for the high horsepower cylinder heads common in racing today. Brodix heads were also the first aftermarket stock block head to start on the front row of the Indianapolis 500.
"We use our racing as advertisement, as well as research and development for all of our products," says Brotherton. Brodix uses K&N air filters on all their race cars. "We show absolutely no power loss when using K&N air filters. We have had several reports from our customers of power gains from using these air filters. The K&N gold oil filters are without a doubt the best, most well designed filter that we have ever used in our racing program. We feel that they are a key part of the lifespan and durability of our engines."
The company is working on an array of new projects now, from a new cylinder head and block for a 4.500 bore spacing small block to a single 4 barrel intake manifold for their 5.0 bore spacing big block. Every one there has been very helpful and eager to take on any new idea that will benefit the end user," says Brotherton. Hailing from Hilltop, Australia, Luke Gough has been racing since he was a young child. Beginning on a Yamaha PW 50 at the age of five, he raced motocross until he was 12. Bored and burned out on motocross, he quit riding. Watching a friend ride at a flat track race a few years later rekindled his passion for racing. He loved the speed and the sliding and soon began racing dirt track. It did not take Gough long to come up to speed as he finished 2nd in the 125cc national title in 2002.

He held the 450cc Australian Long Track title for three consecutive years from 2005 to 2007, and relinquished it only because his schedule in the states did not allow him to get home in time to defend his title for a fourth year. He is the only person to hold the title for that many consecutive years.
Speaking of stateside, his career highlights include a perfect weekend in Richwood, Ohio where he won eight out of eight races for the weekend, and Eddie Mulder's fall classic at Willow Springs in Rosamond, California, where he was the top placing 450cc motorcycle both days. Saturday he topped many larger motorcycles for a 3rd and Sunday saw him still top many larger bikes and finish an amazing fifth. During the event, he was invited to pilot a beautiful Steve Berg prepared Triumph winning the main on Saturday and leading the Sunday main when the primary drive belt stripped out.
In his first road race, in the pouring rain of Seattle, Gough finished fifth on a dead stock SV650 against much more experienced riders, many on highly modified SV650's. He has now competed in his first full year of competition in the AMA Pro Racing Flat Track Singles Series. In his rookie year, he was able to earn a coveted national number that many riders struggle for years to acquire.
At age 22, Luke Gough is one of the most hands on motorcycle racers you will ever meet. Trained as a fabricator and welder in Australia, if he is dissatisfied with any aspect of his race bikes, he simply rebuilds them himself to make the machine more competitive. From chassis to fuel tanks, wheels to custom exhaust systems, Luke has built them all.
"When it comes to my racing career, I will not settle for anything less than the best," says Gough. "If any part of my race bike is not perfect, I modify it until it is. Thanks to K&N, my filters are perfect right out of the box. I use K&N exclusively on both my CRF450 Honda singles race bike as well as my Suzuki SV650 based twins machine."

The 57S-9500 increases horsepower and acceleration by reducing air flow restriction caused by the original factory design. Typical gains on a 4 cylinder vehicle range between 4 and 7 horsepower. Simply replace the factory air filter housing with
K&N's fully enclosed airbox. It is injection molded for extra strength, consistency and durability.
The airbox assembly has a removable lid for easy access to a round tapered washable and reusable K&N air filter (RU-5061). The
design includes a custom engineered velocity stack (Velum) for smooth air flow.
A typical installation can be done with a screwdriver, pliers and a ratchet set.
57S performance air boxes use factory holes as mounting points. The 57S-9500 is pre assembled and custom designed to fit right into the engine compartment.

K&N Universal air filter RC-4381 with chrome top
K&N has released a new chrome top round tapered universal air filter (RC-4381) which offers a high end look. The
RC-4381 is a large air filter which results in more potential air flow and longer periods between cleaning.
The RC-4381 has a base outside diameter of 7.5 inches (191mm), top outside diameter of 5 inches (127mm) and a flange with an inside diameter of 6 inches (152mm) that can be stretched up to 1/16 (1.5mm) to fit any in-between sizes.
K&N’s air filters are designed to allow high air flow while providing excellent filtration.
Like other K&N air filters, the RC-4381 is washable and reusable.
This cone shaped universal air filter might make the perfect filter for an
off-road or racing vehicle or other applications needing a 6 inch flange.
