BMW 3 Series Diesel Owners Get Performance with K&N Air Filters

The Euro-spec 2009 BMW 3 Series was launched in Australia. It’s new look is subtle but the diesel engine is powerful. The BMW 320, 318, 123, 120 and 118 cars have 2.0 liter four cylinder engines and are sold in Europe, Asia, India, Africa and the Middle East.

Darryl Atkins will Ride 2008 Honda CRF 450 with K&N Products in X Games 15

Former Factory Aprilia rider Darryl Atkins has come out of AMA Supermoto retirement to participate in the invitation only X Games 15 in Los Angeles, California. Atkins will race for Supermoto Gold with some of the world’s top motorcycle riders including Mark Burkhart, Brandon Currie, and Carey Hart

Atkins retired last year from AMA Supermoto to participate in various business ventures. Supermoto was part of his life over the past five years. Atkins was a racer and team owner who amassed four AMA National Championship wins and was the 2007 Team Champion.

“The exposure we get from being in the X Games is better than we could get winning every AMA national event for the next ten years,” said Atkins. “The X Games is in a class by itself.”

Atkins prepared for the X games in his 2008 CRF Honda with K&N products at Adams Kart Track in Riverside, California. “I use K&N air and oil filters (KN-116), and as far as I’m concerned there is no other choice out there,” said Atkins. “We could choose any product we want but we choose K&N because it works.”

Atkins competed in the Premier Class during AMA competition, and he will be in the Supermoto Class at the X Games. The Supermoto final will air Saturday at 4:00 pm PST on ESPN.

Atkins also plans to ride next in Europe and New Zealand.

Six Nations Showdown Victory in Canada for K&N Sponsored Racer

Jason Meyers picked up the win in the opener of the Six Nations Showdown at Ohsweken in Canada. It was a long sought out victory for the Clovis, California native. The last time he raced at Ohsweken Speedway in 2007, his night came to an end after a wreck destroyed his car. In 2008, Meyers sought redemption, but mother-nature cancelled the race.

In 2009, he took the lead on a restart from Jason Sides on lap ten and paced the field for most of the 30-lap contest. Donny Schatz chased Meyers but Meyers began to extend his lead near the halfway point of the race. With only three laps remaining, Schatz began to close in. Meyers was held up a little bit and Schatz really closed the gap. The pair had a drag race off of turn four, but Meyers won by less than three-tenths of a second to score his fifth A-Feature win of the season and the 31st of his career with the World of Outlaws series.

“To come back this way and be able to win is great,” said Meyers. “It’s tough to win any World of Outlaws race, but to come to Canada and get this win is a great building block for the big races that are coming up.”

K&N Releases Two New Round Tapered Universal Air Filters

K&N universal clamp-on air filters are designed and manufactured for a wide variety of applications. K&N has released two new round tapered universal air filters, part numbers RC-5059 and RC-5153.

The RC-5059 has a flange length of 0.709 inches (18 mm) and a flange inside diameter of 3.937 (100 mm). The RC-5153 has a flange length of 0.748 inches (19 mm) and a flange inside diameter of 3.894 inches (99 mm).

The flanges on these air filters arestrong and pliable to absorb vibration and they can be stretched for up to 1/16 inches (1.5 mm) to fit in-between sizes. The tops of these filters are unique as they have a carbon fiber look print for a sporty appearance.

Ryan Gates Victory in 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X in Redline Time Attack Series

Ryan Gates is now three for three after dominating the Modified Class in the Redline Time Attack at Nashville Super Speedway.

Gates went to Tennessee for Round Four of The Redline Time Attack Series and competed in his 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X with K&N products.

Ryan Gates will next race in Round 5 of the Redline Time Attack Series at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina

Gates practiced and learned the track on Saturday and also focused on the setup of the car. He also used his in-car timing to record his lap times. In the final practice session Gates posted a 1:03.2 lap time, which was more than 5 seconds faster than his nearest competitor. When it was all over, Gates felt confident heading into the next day’s Time Attack.

On Sunday, Gates earned first on the grid after posting a 1:05.0 lap time. It was also fast enough to secure the lead in the Modified Class by more than 3.5 seconds and smash the current Modified Class Track Record by more than 2 seconds.

Gates secured the win in the Modified Class and captured the Overall Class Championship in Nashville at Round Four of the Redline Time Attack Series.
