Washable and reusable K&N replacement cabin air filter, number VF2043, for 2003-2015 Cadillac CTS, STS, SRX & CTS-V models

Even before General Motors purchased Cadillac in 1909, the automaker had already established itself as one of America's premier luxury carmakers. Cadillac was, and still is, at the forefront of technological advances by introducing full electrical systems, the clashless manual transmission and the steel roof. The Cadillac brand developed three engines, with its V8 setting the standard for the American automotive industry. Since 2003 Cadillac has incorporated a cabin air filter, before many other automakers, designed to improve the luxury driving experience within several Cadillac models including the CTS, STS, SRX and CTS-V. Many Cadillac CTS, STS, SRX and CTS-V owners may not realize that their luxury car is equipped with a cabin air filter, or the importance it plays in both air quality as well as vehicle maintenance.

A K&N washable cabin air filter traps dust, pollen, debris and pollutants as well as helping to control mold, mildew, spores, fungus, bacteria and germs to provide clean air for the driver and passengers

A K&N washable cabin air filter traps dust, pollen, debris and pollutants as well as helping to control mold, mildew, spores, fungus, bacteria and germs to provide clean air for the driver and passengers

An automotive cabin air filter is designed to capture dust, pollen, leaves and other particles from entering a vehicle’s passenger compartment. A dirty or clogged cabin air filter can be the source of musty odors inside a vehicle while also impeding airflow into the passenger compartment causing heating or air conditioning problems. Replacing a cabin air filter is a simple, and important, piece of preventative maintenance that helps protect those inside a 2003-2015 Cadillac CTS, STS, SRX & CTS-V, as well as the vehicle’s heating and air conditioning system.

A K&N washable and reusable automotive cabin air filter is the first of its kind and K&N washable and reusable cabin air filter VF2043 is designed as an exact replacement cabin air filter for 2003-2015 Cadillac CTS, STS, SRX & CTS-V models. K&N Cabin Air Filters are designed to meet factory filtration requirements and typically flow more air than the average disposable paper cabin air filter. K&N washable and reusable cabin air filters use a single layer of thermally bonded nonwoven synthetic material as a physical barrier to trap dust, pollen, leaves and other debris. With the aid of K&N’s Refresher spray, an electrostatic charge is able to help capture many types of mold, mildew, spores, fungus, bacteria and germs while helping to control odors.

K&N Cabin Air Filters are built with a molded urethane frame and wire screen ensuring long life, and the ability to be cleaned repeatedly. K&N Washable Cabin Air Filters allow 2003-2015 Cadillac CTS, STS, SRX & CTS-V owners to clean their filter as often as necessary without incurring the cost of buying disposable filters over and over again. This is excellent news for allergy sufferers, those with breathing difficulties, or vehicles operated in dirtier than normal environments. K&N recommends servicing its washable cabin air filters every at least 12 months or 12,000 miles or as often as necessary.

K&N Cabin Air Filters can be cleaned in a few simple steps with the K&N Refresher Kit 99-6000; not to be confused with K&N’s traditional Recharger kit. Over time a K&N washable / reusable Cabin Air Filter will save 2003-2015 Cadillac CTS, STS, SRX & CTS-V owners money when compared to purchasing disposable filters time and again. K&N is so confident in its cleanable cabin air filters that they are covered by a 10-year/100,000 mile limited warranty.

K&N washable/reusable cabin air filter VF2043 can be installed in the cabin air filter housing located in the engine compartment near the windshield of 2003-2015 Cadillac CTS, STS, SRX & CTS-V models with common tools in just a matter of minutes. K&N washable and reusable cabin air filter VF2043 is designed to replace the disposable cabin air filter in the following Cadillac models:

The K&N Air Filters supported FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) team of Aston Martin Racing won the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps race in Francorchamps, Stavelot, Belgium in both the GTE Pro and GTE Am classes. The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps hosts the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix race and the course consists of 20 turns spread over 7 km (approximately 4.3 miles). The course is considered by many to be one of the most challenging race tracks in the world, due to its fast, hilly and twisty nature. Spa-Francorchamps is a favorite track among both drivers and spectators.

Aston Martin Racing runs five grand touring cars in the FIA WEC with both professional and amateur drivers behind the wheel. The #99 Aston Martin, which was the eventual Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps GTE Pro class winning car, started the race from the front of the grid thanks to an impressive qualifying session by drivers Fernando Rees and Richie Stanaway. A third driver, Alex MacDowall, joined the race and the trio pushed hard with their pit crew assisting with near-perfect pit-stops to cross the line in first place. Aston Martin Racing’s additional entries in the GTE Pro class had respectable finishes at the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The Aston Martin Racing #97 Vantage GTE finished fifth in the GTE Pro class and the #95 Aston Martin finished sixth.

After the race, Richie Stanaway, one of three drivers of the K&N filters equipped #99 Aston Martin said “That was an amazing result for us. I’ve got to say a huge thanks to the team. They’ve been practicing a lot on their pit stops and I think that’s where we really hit it home today. They were able to hit 16-second stops every time and put the Ferrari guys under pressure. I couldn’t be happier and I’m now really looking forward to Le Mans.”

Team Aston Martin Racing took a second win in the GTE Am class with the #98 Vantage GTE car piloted by Pedro Lamy, Paul Dalla Lana, and Mathias Lauda. The team’s win at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is its second in a row and they will carry that momentum into the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 13-14, 2015. “After the win at Silverstone, the pole position here yesterday and then getting maximum points today, we are really thinking about the championship. The team did a fantastic job and our pit-stops were excellent,” said Mathias Lauda, one of three drivers of the K&N equipped #98 Vantage GTE, after the Aston Martin Racing win in the GTE Am class at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Aston Martin Racing’s Team Principal John Gaw commented “Congratulations to the #99 drivers for getting their first WEC GTE Pro race win and to #98 for continuing their clean sweep of GTE Am pole positions and wins this season. We’ve got some more points in the bag this weekend, as all cars finished the race, but we need to make the most of double points in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in order to strengthen our WEC GTE Manufacturer’s Title campaign.” The K&N Air Filters supported FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) team of Aston Martin Racing will race again when the WEC continues with the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 13-14, 2015.

The National Catalog Management Association (NCMA) has awarded KNFilters.com their 2015 Gold Award for Website Catalog Excellence. The award recognizes the outstanding functionality of the K&N website and the quality and completeness of K&N product information. The NCMA is focused on raising product catalog data quality standards in automotive and related industries, and is part of the Auto Care Association. NCMA recognized the best examples of paper catalog, web catalog, and mobile catalog applications at the annual NCMA knowledge exchange conference in Orlando, Florida. Volunteer NCMA-member judges reviewed more than 60 submissions against established criteria in making their choices. The KNFilters.com website includes extensive product information and search tools, including vehicle search, VIN search, dimensional search, local dealer search, product specifications, vehicle fitment data, multiple images per product, product videos, installation instructions, product test data, marketing content, and social media integration.

National Catalog Managers Association Award Logo

Tim Martin, K&N's Chief Operations Officer, has long understood the importance of quality product information. "Our goal has long been to have the best product data and brand website in the auto parts industry, and it is an honor for our website to be awarded that distinction by NCMA. We invest in product data because it drives sales and builds brand loyalty. Our website educates consumers about our products, and helps to refer them to our network of thousands of local retail parts and accessory stores worldwide. The website also forms the foundation for product data that we share with our distribution partners to help them effectively sell K&N products and grow sales. Our website is the published result of thousands of hours of combined behind-the-scenes efforts from a cross functional team at K&N that includes web design, product data specialists, content development, marketing, and product development. Product information is vital to our product design, manufacturing, distribution, and marketing processes. We work to provide K&N dealers with comprehensive and complete product information. We are also constantly working to improve the functionality of the website, and have built a platform that integrates responsive design and usability features for mobile users as well as desktop users. People have great experiences using our products, and we want the website to deliver a great user experience as well."

Mike Garner, K&N's Internet Business Manager, has been at the helm of the award winning website for nearly 15 years. "It is a great honor to get this award from NCMA," Garner stated. "Knowing that the awards are decided by automotive industry members makes it even more meaningful. We have many people in many departments here at K&N that work together to provide outstanding product information that we use on our website, our systems and in files we provide to our customers. In the past year on KNFilters.com we have made many improvements including additional product attributes, images and documents. We also have added new pages and functionality to our mobile website, www.knfilters.com/mobile. Our mobile website has been optimized for finding parts with greater ease, and when you find the right part our dealer search can use your current location to show dealers near you. Complete, accurate data provides confidence to consumers they are selecting the correct part which helps drive more sales and it also reduces returns. Improved product data is well worth the investment."

If you told John Dodge and Horace Dodge at the beginning of the 19th century that their baby, the Dodge Brothers Company, would become one of the biggest automobile companies in the world, they would probably have laughed out loud. Or maybe not? Maybe they secretly knew the potential of this family run business to affect the lives of millions and influence the automotive industry on an unprecedented level. John and Horace’s original business was a bicycle company that they soon sold in order to open up a machine shop in Detroit, Michigan, to make parts for the booming auto industry. After over a decade of making parts for companies such as Ford Motor Co, they opened up their own auto business.

In 1928, Dodge Brothers Company was bought out by the Chrysler Corporation that took Dodge vehicles to the next level of global awareness and production. The Dodge division of Chrysler continued to grow as the years passed releasing model after model and ultimately leading up to the creation of the Dodge Charger. The Charger was a response to the muscle car era in which Ford released the Mustang and Plymouth released the Barracuda. The extensive history of the Dodge Charger began in the 60’s and still runs strong today as the engine, aesthetics and overall performance continues to be a force to be reckoned with. K&N is all about performance and improving it when possible. That’s why K&N has had a long tradition of offering power gaining products for Dodge models. This includes a range of amazing high performance air intake products for 2006-2015 Dodge Charger models.

2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Dodge Chargers with 2.7L V6 engine have a K&N air intake option available, K&N’s 57-1544. The 57-1544 comes with a chrome topped K&N air filter and a heat shield and produces an estimated 7.3 horsepower once it hits 5693 RPM. The same 2006-2010 Dodge Chargers with the 3.5L engine can utilize the 57-1543 which shows estimated gains of 11.6 HP at 6215 RPM.

Owners of the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Dodge Charger models with either the 5.7L or 6.1L V8 engine cans benefit from one of two K&N air intake options. The K&N 57-1542 is designed to improve throttle response and increase horsepower by an estimated 21 at 5216 RPM. The 57-1542 comes with a free-flowing high density polyethylene tube and a heat shield that protects the air filter from heat emanating from the engine. The second option is the K&N 69-2526TP which is a part of the K&N Typhoon cold air intake series. The air intake tube has a chrome-like finish and accommodates the factory mass air sensor, air temperature sensor and a replacement silicone crank case vent hose. The K&N 69-2526TP showed an estimated 11.6 horsepower gain on the K&N dyno when it hit the 4854 RPM range. The 2011- 2015 Dodge Charger 5.7L also can benefit from increased performance with the K&N 69-2526TP.

Owners of the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Dodge Charger with the 3.6L also has two K&N air intake options available to them, the K&N 63-1564 or 69-2544TP. The K&N 63-1564 Aircharger Intake Kit produces an estimated 8 horsepower at 5231 RPM, whereas the K&N 69-2544TP showed an estimated gain of 7.4 horsepower at 5095 RPM.

2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015 Dodge Charger models with the 5.7 liter engine have an easy bolt on upgrade option from K&N. The K&N 63-1114 will replace the restrictive factory air filter and air intake with a high performance alternative. The cooler and denser air, coupled with the high air flow rates showed estimated gains of 11. 7 horsepower when at 4513 RPM.

K&N produces a variety of air intakes for 2011-2016 Dodge Charger 6.4L V8 models. The 2011-2016 Dodge Charger 6.4L V8 can increase performance with the K&N 63-1565 cold air intake or by using the 71-2545. Both of these intakes are guaranteed to increase horsepower. The 71 series Blackhawk Induction Systems air intake comes with a sleek blacked-out finish and produces an estimated 9 HP at 4564 RPM. The 63-1565 showed an incredible gain estimated gain of 21 horsepower when the Charger reached 5216 RPM. The 2011-2016 Dodge Charger 6.4L V8 can also increase performance with the K&N Typhoon Air Intake 69-2545TP which also shows a sizable horsepower gain.
