2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L K&N Air Intake Delivers Street Legal Performance

K&N Air Intake for 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT

A free-flowing roto-molded HDPE air intake tube & high-flow K&N air filter helps to overcome the restriction found in the 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT stock air ducting

The Ford Mustang has been synonymous with performance since its introduction in early 1964. The Ford Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. Its styling became wildly popular and inspired a host of imitators. One of the most highly collectible Mustang models came out in 1968 as the GT/CS or California Special. At the time, California made up roughly 20% of Ford Mustang sales and as such this new California Special edition was built at Ford’s San Jose, California assembly plant and intended for the two California sales districts. The 1968 California Special Mustang proved so popular that Ford reintroduced the GT/CS California Special package for the 2007-2009 Ford Mustang GT. The Ford Mustang has always had strong roots in California, which is why K&N air filters developed an air intake system designed to give Mustang owners a street legal power increase in states like California, and other states adopting California emissions standards.

K&N Air Intake for 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT

Using the 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT factory air filter box allowed K&N engineers to retain all factory air intake connections, including stock emissions control equipment

The 57-2578 K&N 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L performance air intake system is a little different from the other available K&N Ford Mustang air intake systems. K&N engineers chose to retain the use of the 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 stock air box when designing this performance air intake system. Retaining the use of the stock air filter box had several engineering benefits. Retaining the stock air box allowed K&N engineers to increase performance while keeping inlet air temperatures, and air / fuel ratios within factory specifications. Additionally, utilizing the stock air box maintains the use of the factory cold air inlet near the front wheel. Plus keeping the factory air filter box allowed K&N engineers to retain all factory air intake connections, including stock emissions control equipment.

K&N Air Intake for 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT

K&N intake system number 57-2578 will provide improved engine sound to complement the already pulse raising exhaust note of the Ford 2011-2014 Mustang GT 5.0 Coyote motor

Testing revealed that the factory maze of air intake ducting was a significant source of restriction in the stock air inlet system. Included in 50-state street legal performance air intake system, number 57-2578, is a free-flowing roto-molded HDPE air intake tube which helps to overcome the restriction found in the stock air ducting. Restriction isn’t the only trouble with the stock air intake as it also creates turbulence in the incoming air. The roto-molded black HDPE air intake tube used in street legal air intake, 57-2578, has a smooth and consistent internal circumference for reduced airflow turbulence. Reducing restriction and straightening airflow helps the 2011-2014 Ford Mustang 5.0 V8 engine to breathe easier.

The next step in reducing restriction and improving 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT performance was to eliminate the restrictive disposable air filter. K&N high-flow air filters provide less restriction than typical paper air filters. This means that K&N replacement air filter, number 33-2431, is able to diminish restriction inherent to using a stock paper air filter. The 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT K&N Air Filter is designed with K&N’s famous high-flow cotton gauze filter media to help increase airflow while also providing outstanding engine protection. This 2011-2014 Ford Mustang performance air filter is washable, reusable, and can go up to 50,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions.

Dyno Chart for K&N Air Intake 57-2578 for 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT

On the dyno, street-legal Mustang air intake 57-2578 produced an estimated additional 10.09 horsepower at 5,379 rpm and 16.21 pound-feet of torque at 4,376 rpm over the stock system

All of the design features of the 50-state legal K&N 2011, 2012, 2013, or 2014 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L performance air intake system work together to deliver increased horsepower, torque, and improved acceleration. On the dyno, 57-2578, produced an estimated additional 10.09 horsepower at 5,379 rpm and 16.21 pound-feet of torque at 4,376 rpm over the stock system. Additional horsepower and torque can come in handy when merging onto a highway, or on a race track. Additionally, K&N intake system number 57-2578 will provide improved engine sound that will complement the already pulse raising exhaust note of the Ford 5.0 Coyote motor.

This 50-state street legal performance air intake system, number 57-2578, is an excellent upgrade for 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L models. With simple to follow instructions and no need to make any other modifications to the vehicle, this street legal performance intake will make more horsepower available at the push of the pedal. If that weren’t enough, K&N backs its air filters and performance air intake systems with a 10-year/million mile limited warranty. Whether it’s taking a 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT to the next level of on-track performance or adding some excitement to the daily commute, K&N offers a quick, street-legal, bolt on power increase.

Performance air intake 57-2578 is designed to fit and function properly on 2011 - 2014 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L V8 models.

K&N Replacement Air Filter for the Infiniti Q50

K&N Replacement Air Filter for the Infiniti Q50

Competition in the luxury sport-sedan segment has gotten quite hot in recent years. Manufacturers have to offer performance, luxury, the latest technology and fuel efficiency all at the same time, without sacrificing any one of those characteristics. Swing and miss on one of those checkboxes and you’re forgotten as quickly as a baseball pitcher with a blown out shoulder. The Infiniti Q50 doesn’t strike out, though. It knocks one out of the park with powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engines, cutting-edge technology, a luxurious interior and performance bested only by its sharp exterior styling. Owners of the 2014 and 2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7 liter and 3.5 liter models can add more performance and save on maintenance costs, taking their slugger to the top of the big leagues with the K&N 33-5014 replacement high-flow air filter.

The 33-5014 2014-2015 Infiniti Q50 replacement air filter is an easy-to-install performance upgrade. It’s designed to increase horsepower and acceleration by helping to minimize restriction in the airflow pathway, allowing your engine to breathe easier through oiled cotton gauze filter media. K&N’s filter media also provides excellent engine protection and filtration efficiency to give your Q50 clean air, and plenty of it. The panel-shaped design of the filter and its urethane sealing lip mean that the 33-5014 replacement air filter will fit properly in the factory Infiniti Q50 air box.

Another benefit of the 33-5014 2014-2015 Infiniti Q50 replacement air filter’s design is that it’s washable and reusable. Replacing disposable air filters over and over again, which can get pricey since the Q50 requires two air filters, is no longer necessary. Once every 50,000 miles or so depending on driving conditions, remove the 33-5014 air filters from the factory air boxes, wash and re-oil them using one of K&N’s Recharger® air filter cleaning kits with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions, and reinstall. K&N is so confident that the 33-5014 will be the last air filter you’ll need to purchase for your Q50 that the filter is backed with a 10-year/million mile limited warranty.

The 33-5014 replacement air filter checks all the boxes of a performance upgrade: easy to install, quality design and engineering, a reputable brand name, durability and it can help save money to boot. Four Races In 1 Weekend For Cody Rahders In K&N Equipped Polaris RZR & 2 Podiums

An action packed weekend for K&N’s Cody Rahders began with Terracross rounds 1 and 2, followed by Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series rounds 4 and 5 where he earned podium finishes (JDMFoto image)

An action packed weekend for K&N’s Cody Rahders began with Terracross rounds 1 and 2, followed by Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series rounds 4 and 5 where he earned podium finishes (JDMFoto image)

In a long weekend of competition K&N air filters sponsored side by side racer Cody Rahders piloted his Fox sponsored Polaris RZR to 13th and 5th place finishes at rounds 1 and 2 of the Terracross Championships. After that Cody was on track again in his Polaris Cognito Fox sponsored RZR at rounds 4 and 5 of the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series.

The action packed weekend began for K&N driver Cody Rahders with Terracross round 1. Cody finished 2nd in his day one qualifier which moved him directly to the round one main event. In the round one main event race Cody started 6th in his K&N equipped Polaris RZR and slowly worked his way up to 3rd before breaking an axle on the last lap and finishing 5th.

K&N supported racer Cody Rahders broke another axle in his day two main event qualifier and was forced to battle for a spot in the main event during the last chance qualifier (LCQ). Cody won the LCQ with ease which earned him a spot in the round two main event. In the round two main event race Cody started from second to last and worked his way up to 8th in the K&N powered Polaris RZR before breaking yet another axle. In the end he was credited with 13th.

"Huge thank you to Fox for sponsoring me at the Terracross Championships. It was a great opportunity. The front differential broke during practice and I kept over driving the car in 2 wheel drive and breaking axles, super hard not to do," said Cody Rahders.

At Round 4 of the Lucas Oil Regional series Cody qualified 2nd then went on to finish the main in 2nd place behind the wheel of the K&N filters equipped Polaris Cognito Fox sponsored RZR. Cody again qualified 2nd for LOORRS Round 5; however all hell broke loose in the main event.

The LOORRS round 5 main event was plagued with intentional brake checking, rough driving, aggressive passes, and multiple crashes. Cody Rahders physically finished 3rd in the main event with only 3 wheel drive and literally dragging the Polaris RZR’s right front tire. At the finish line the driver who crossed the finish line in 2nd place was black flagged moving Cody one position higher up the podium.

After the trophy presentations the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing series post-race tech inspector requested that the podium finishers remove and surrender their cylinder heads and camshafts for inspection. The 1st place finisher declined inspection and was disqualified. Cody Rahders’ K&N filters protected engine was disassembled, inspected, and passed by the inspector. Cody Rahders was awarded with the win for round 5.

Afterward Cody Rahders said, "That was the absolute longest weekend of my life! I had fun but I'm glad we have a little time before the next race, my car is pretty bent and needs some work." Cody Rahders has quickly climbed his way into 2nd place in LOORRS championship points and sits just 18 points out of first with two rounds to go in the Lucas Oil Regional Series.

Cody Rahders Racing would like to offer thanks to his sponsors, including: Polaris, Cognito Motorsports, Fox, Sparks Racing Products, Superchips, Black Rhino, RacerX Motorsports, GMZ Tires, Method Race Wheels, PAC Racing Springs, K&N Filters, Twisted Stitch Seats, Streamline Performance and Lucas Oil. Additionally he’d like to thank his spotter Nick Novak, mechanics Jon Kelly & Kevin Sullivan, as well as his girlfriend Regina.

K&N Gives 2015 & 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat, Charger Hellcat Owners a Boost They Crave

K&N Air Intake for 2015 Dodge Hellcat engines

A black powder coated free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tube coupled to a high-flow K&N air filter allows the 6.2L supercharged Dodge Hellcat engine to breathe easier

K&N Air Intake under the hood of 2015-2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat

An unprecedented 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque as well as a top track speed of 199 MPH made the 2015-2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat the most powerful muscle car to date

When the Street & Racing Technology (SRT) high-performance automobile group within the Chrysler Corporation announced the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat they must have been greeted with a moment’s worth of resounding silence before the crowd uttered a single "Wow!" An unprecedented 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, as well as a top track speed of 199 MPH, made the 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat the most powerful muscle car to date. Apparently there must have been an outcry from more than one performance minded family guy as shortly thereafter a 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat was announced. 707 horsepower, and the ability to comfortably seat 5 people, make the Charger Hellcat the most powerful, quickest and fastest mass production sedan ever.

K&N Air Intake System for 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

An outcry from more than one performance minded family guy resulted in the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat with 707 horsepower, and the ability to comfortably seat 5 people

Speed junkies are never satisfied. Even with a rated 707 horsepower Hellcat owners are screaming for more power. A K&N® performance air intake system will give 2015 through 2016 Challenger Hellcat and Charger Hellcat owners exactly what they crave. After establishing baseline power readings, the K&N Hellcat air intake, number 69-2550TTK, was installed on an otherwise stock 2015 and 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat 6.2L supercharged engine and dyno tested in-house by K&N filters. The results were an astounding estimated additional 38.95 horsepower and 21.01 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels of an already outrageous car.

K&N Hellcat air intake, number 69-2550TTK, provided an astounding estimated additional 38.95 horsepower and 21.01 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels

This kind of performance from a simple bolt-on K&N air intake system may seem hard to believe. However, the concept behind a K&N air intake system is simple. Replacing the obviously restrictive factory induction system with a black powder coated free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tube coupled to a high-flow K&N air filter allows the 6.2L supercharged Hellcat engine to breathe easier. A combination of reduced intake tract restriction, straighter airflow, and an application specific air filter heat shield add up to massive gains in horsepower and torque for 2015 and 2016 Hellcat models.
