2015 & 2016 Chevy Colorado GMC Canyon V6 Air Intake Provides Bolt-On Horsepower & Torque Increase

K&N Air Intake under the hood of 2015-2016 Colorado and Canyon

The K&N 2015-2016 Chevy Colorado 3.6L V6 and GMC Canyon 3.6L V6 air intake system is expert-engineered and guaranteed to increase horsepower and torque

The General Motors 305 horsepower 3.6-liter LFX V6 engine is found in several Buick, Cadillac, and Chevrolet models including the Chevy Camaro. When equipped with this same 3.6L V6, the 2015 and 2016 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon is the most powerful mid-size pickup currently available in North America. Even though the Colorado and Canyon beats the competition by over 40 horsepower, there’s never any harm in improving performance especially when it’s as easy, and rewarding, as bolting on a K&N® performance intake system.

K&N Air Intake System for 2015-2016 Colorado and Canyon

The 305 horsepower optional V6 engine makes the 2015-2016 Colorado and Canyon the most powerful mid-size pickup currently available in the North American market

By simply installing K&N performance air intake number 63-3088, 2015 and 2016 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon V6 owners can increase power output by an estimated 19.41 additional horsepower and an incredible 27.72 lb-ft of torque at a very usable 3,551 RPM. More power will increase acceleration and improve performance for hauling, towing, and even everyday driving. The K&N 2015-2016 Chevy Colorado 3.6L V6 and GMC Canyon 3.6L V6 air intake system is able to free up large amounts of power by replacing the restrictive factory system with a free-flowing roto-moled black HDPE air intake tube, a K&N high-flow chrome top conical air filter, and even an application specific air filter heat shield to guard air entering the filter from engine heat.

K&N Air Intake under the hood of 2015-2016 Colorado and Canyon

The K&N 2015-2016 Chevy Colorado 3.6L V6 and GMC Canyon 3.6L V6 air intake system includes an air filter heat shield to helps to guard cooler air from heat in the engine compartment

K&N high-flow air filters, such as RF-1042XD used on the K&N 2015 & 2016 Colorado and Canyon intake system, are designed to provide superior airflow and superior performance without sacrificing filtration efficiency. This conical clamp-on air filter is washable and reusable and can go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. When it does come time to service a K&N oiled cotton air filter, cleaning can be easily completed using one of K&N’s readily available Recharger® air filter service kits.

Dyno Chart for K&N 63-3088 Aircharger

On the dyno, when installed on a 2015 Chevy Colorado V6, K&N 63-3088 air intake system produced an incredible estimated additional 19.41 horsepower and 27.72 lb-feet of torque

K&N performs real world, laboratory, and dyno testing to ensure that a K&N air intake system will provide a guaranteed increase in horsepower without the need for further modifications. On the dyno, when installed on a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado 3.6L V6, the 63-3088 performance air intake system produced an estimated additional 19.41 horsepower and 27.72 pound-feet of torque at a low 3,551 rpm. By increasing power the engine will expend less energy to cruise down the highway or help during full throttle acceleration situations.

The 2015 through 2016 Chevy Colorado 3.6L V6 and 2015 GMC Canyon 3.6L V6 air intake system is an easy to install performance upgrade that can be installed in about 90 minutes or less using basic hand tools, and K&N’s simple step-by-step instructions. K&N backs its air filters and air intake systems with a 10-year/million mile limited warranty so owners can rest assured that their intake system can stand up to tough conditions for years to come.

Whether the 2015 to 2016 Chevy Colorado 3.6L V6 and GMC Canyon 3.6L V6 is used as a reliable daily driver, a dedicated workhorse, or something in between, the K&N 63-3088 Performance Air Intake system will provide increased performance with better engine sound for years to come.

RJ Anderson Dominates Baja Capturing 1st Pro2 Win & Taking Pro-Lite Points Lead

Estero Beach Baja International Race Track

Track conditions at LOORRS rounds 11 & 12 were far from ideal at Estero Beach Baja International Race Track; the sand filled dirt presented a challenge for track officials to keep prepped

For the first time in Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORRS) history, the series traveled south of the border to Ensenada, Baja California Mexico for Rounds 11 & 12 of the LOORRS 2015 race season. The newly designed Baja International Short Course track sits adjacent to the Estero Beach Resort and hosted the series’ biggest names and thousands of fans from Mexico and the US. Local officials, the Papas & Beer Racing Team, and Lucas Oil worked tirelessly to develop a facility designed to host races for years to come.

Baja International Short Course’s rhythm section

The Baja International Short Course’s rhythm section proved to be less of a concern for the larger suspensions of the LOORRS Pro-2 class; however the track deterioration was worse

K&N sponsored LOORRS short course off-road racer RJ Anderson and the RJ37 team began their pilgrimage to Baja on the Wednesday before the race weekend. Coming into the weekend the RJ37 team hoped for a bit of luck to help RJ capture his first win in the sports premier Pro-2 class. But while Anderson had been struggling to find his groove in Pro-2, he demonstrated once again why he is a champion in the Pro-Lite division.

Rob MacCachren pulling ahead

As the green flag waived RJ Anderson rocketed off the start and pulled ahead of Rob MacCachren in turn two followed by a furious back and forth battle before RJ pulled away

RJ Anderson began the weekend of LOORRS racing 2nd in points for the Pro-Lite class with a poor showing in round three as his only roadblock to an all-out points lead. Track conditions were far from ideal at Estero Beach Baja International Race Track. The sand filled dirt of Estero Beach presented a challenge for track officials to keep prepped between races. Practice and qualifying in the Pro-Lite class proved the course and its rhythm section to be anything but rhythmic.

RJ Anderson fighting off Pro-2 Champion Bryce Menzies

After a late race yellow flag restart RJ Anderson fought off Pro-2 Champion Bryce Menzies and soared to his first Pro-2 victory with thousands of LOORRS fans cheering him on

RJ qualified second fastest on Saturday, laying down his quickest time in only the second lap of qualifying, eventually slowing as the track deteriorated. The green flag dropped and it wasn’t long before the rhythm section claimed its first victim. By the end of the race a quarter of the field was out. RJ maintained his position in the K&N filters equipped #37 Pro-Lite truck and finished 3rd in class, giving him his 8th podium this season and nudging him ever so slightly into the points lead just ahead of Jarrett Brooks.

RJ Anderson

Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series officials gave RJ Anderson his moment in the spotlight allowing him time to appear on the podium before jumping into the K&N equipped #37 Pro-Lite truck

The Baja International Short Course’s rhythm section proved to be less of a concern for the larger suspensions of the Pro-2 class, however the track deterioration was worse. The RJ37 team struggled to find the “hot setup” for Estero Beach and qualified ninth in Pro-2. When the race started, RJ took his time and fought through the rough course and ferocious field of the sport’s best off-road racers. K&N filters’ RJ Anderson finished the race in 5th place and headed into Sunday’s LOORRS round 12 races feeling confident.

RJ Anderson & the RJ37 race team headed home with two 1st place trophies and one 3rd place trophy

After an evening of celebration, RJ Anderson & the RJ37 race team headed home with two 1st place trophies, one 3rd place trophy, and the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Pro-Lite points lead

Qualifying in Pro-2 went much better for round 12 with RJ claiming the fifth fastest time on track. RJ Anderson drew a #6 inversion putting him on the front row next to racing legend Rob MacCachren. This was exactly the type of lucky break the team had hoped for. As the green flag waived RJ rocketed off the start and pulled ahead of MacCachren in turn two. RJ and Rob battled furiously back and forth for several laps, but eventually RJ pulled away. After a late race yellow flag restart RJ Anderson fought off Pro-2 Champion Bryce Menzies and soared to his first Pro-2 victory with thousands of LOORRS fans cheering him on.

Lucas Oil officials graciously gave RJ his moment in the spotlight and allowed him time to appear on the podium before jumping into the K&N equipped #37 Pro-Lite truck. "A lot of hard work and dedication has gone into achieving my first Pro-2 win. I'll hang onto this memory for the rest of my life. I am really stoked I got to share the victory with my family, friends, sponsors and team. Without them none of this would be possible," said Anderson.

RJ qualified second in Pro-Lite round 12 and the inversion kept him on the front row. With a “trimmed down” rhythm section, the Pro-Lite trucks ran a much quicker and more confident pace. RJ Anderson & Brooks battled hard through the first few laps. RJ took and maintained the lead for ten laps, earning the RJ37 team their second victory of the day, further extending RJ’s Pro-Lite points lead.

After an evening of celebration, RJ Anderson & the RJ37 race team headed home with two 1st place trophies, one 3rd place trophy, and the Pro-Lite points lead. RJ Anderson would like to thank LOORRS, the Papas & Beer Racing Team, local officials, and LOORRS fans for an unforgettable weekend. RJ would also like to extend a special thank you to the Menzies Motorsports team, family & friends, and all of the sponsors and team partners for their tireless support of the RJ37 program. “Without you, none of this would be possible!” said Anderson. RJ will compete next in Sparks, Nevada for Rounds 13-14 at Wild West Motorsports Park on August 22 & 23, 2015.

K&N Professional Drifter Matt Field Battles Washington Weather & His Competition

Caption

Matt Field lead a conservative lead run, paired with a follow run that pressured Jhonnattan Castro when needed to get the win and advance into the Formula Drift Top 16 (Alex Wong photo)

The sport of Drifting employs a technique where the driver intentionally loses traction in the rear wheels while maintaining control through counter-steering. The exact origin of drifting is unknown; however its birthplace can be traced back to Japan. In 1988 one of the first organized events specifically dedicated to drifting was formed and called the D1 Grand Prix. Since then Drifting has become a massively popular form of motorsports where drivers compete to earn points from judges based on line, angle, speed, and show factor. If a clear winner cannot be decided the judges will request that more passes are run until a driver comes out ahead.

Matt Field took on Chelsea Denofa, an aggressive, relentless, driver much like Matt Field, which made for an exciting battle in the Top 16 of Formula Drift at Evergreen Speedway (Alex Wong photo)

K&N filters sponsored professional drifter Matt Field found himself in exactly that situation at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington for the Formula Drift Throwdown. Practice had been going really well for Matt Field and his team. Unfortunately it started to rain just before practice was ended. The off and on rain continued into qualifying leaving wet and dry patches resulting in unpredictable levels of grip throughout the course. During Matt Field’s second qualifying pass the rain cleared, and the track dried up which improved grip levels. Matt went out and laid down a score good enough to earn 7th position going into the round of 32.

Things got interesting in the FD round of eight with K&N filters supported driver Matt Field going against Pat Goodin when the judges decided it was going to take One More Time to decide (Alex Bucur photo)

K&N’s Matt Field was slated to go against Jhonnattan Castro in his Top 32 tandem battle. Matt lead a conservative lead run, paired with a follow run that pressured Castro who needed to get the win and advance into the Top 16. There Matt Field would take on Chelsea Denofa. Chelsea is an aggressive, relentless, driver much like Matt Field. This pairing was sure to make for an exciting battle no matter what the outcome. Matt lead first and the run went in his favor with Chelsea de-beading a tire, giving Field the advantage. On the follow run, Matt applied pressure around the bank, leaving room for the transfer, and then again applied pressure to end the course. The judges gave Matt Field the win and a spot in the Great 8.

The judges ultimately awarded Pat Goodin with the win; but Matt Field and his team gained a marginal gap in championship points between 6th and 7th, getting a bit closer to the Top 5 (Larry Chen photo)

Things got interesting in the round of eight with K&N filters supported driver Matt Field going against Pat Goodin. The two went out for their first run, where Matt laid down a solid lead while Pat made multiple mistakes in the follow position. During Matt’s follow run he applied pressure, however the overall winner was too close to call and the judges decided it was going to take One More Time to decide. More rain made the ground wet and slippery. Matt Field and his team tried to overcome the loose conditions by lowering tire pressures but the conditions were very tough. Pat Goodin had a solid follow run to Matt’s lead, while Matt dropped low coming off the bank during his follow run. The judges ultimately awarded Pat Goodin with the win.

Staying positive about his elimination, Matt is thankful that he and his team gained a marginal gap in championship points between 6th and 7th, getting a bit closer to the Top 5. K&N air filters sponsored Matt Field and the Formula Drift series will hit the track again at Texas Motor Speedway on August 21-22 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Caption

Brandon McReynolds dominated the #ThanksKenny 150 NASCAR K&N Pro Series race, leading 127 of 150 laps right from the start as McReynolds also won the 21 Means 21 Coors Light Pole

Brandon McReynolds earned his first ever NASCAR K&N Pro Series victory in the Casey's General Store 150 at Iowa Speedway earlier in 2015. That race was the first of two annual combination races between the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West. Brandon McReynolds, driving the No. 16 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota for Bill McAnally Racing, became only the second NASCAR K&N Pro Series West driver to win the combination race at Iowa. With this second win at Iowa Speedway in the #ThanksKenny 150 McReynolds has become the series’ first repeat winner.
