A special lightweight frame kept the engine and the center-of-gravity down low. And the race-derived 450cc motor featured dual overhead cams, fuel injection, and (approx.) 41 screaming horsepower. With just 368 lbs (dry weight) to lug around, the Suzuki QuadRacer LTR450 is fast enough for the average rider. In order for an engine to burn fuel and make power, air has to be drawn into the cylinder to act as a catalyst during combustion. Normally that air is brought in through the factory intake system, which uses a series of narrow tubes to funnel air through the restrictive paper air filter, to the throttle body. But as that air is forced around sharp curves, over uneven surfaces, and into different sized tubes, it starts to heat up and gains turbulence, which causes it to lose some of its combustion potential.

To recapture some of that lost horsepower, the K&N 57-1128 FIPK Performance Intake System creates a more direct airflow path to the engine. A larger, aerodynamically designed HDPE intake tube replaces the smaller factory unit, and links the throttle body directly to the oversized K&N high-flow air filter. To aide installation, and make this K&N 57-Series FIPK Performance Intake System completely legal in all 50-states, the Suzuki 450's inlet air temperature sensor plugs into a fitting on the back of the heat shield. And there's also a fitting on the intake tube for the crank case vent hose. The 2008-2011 Yamaha Rhino's fuel injected 686cc engine makes power by igniting a combination of gasoline and air inside its single cylinder. The gas is pulled from the tank, and then sprayed under pressure, directly into the cylinder. No big deal. The air on the other hand, has to first travel through the dirt-caked paper air filter inside the stock air box, and then it has to traverse the obstructions and tight bends inside the narrow intake tube. The air then arrives at the throttle body swirling and hot. Since warm air doesn't contain as much oxygen as cold air, these uneven spurts of warm air won't burn the fuel inside the cylinder as efficiently as it could. First and foremost is the enhanced Search By Vehicle tool located on the KNFilters.com homepage. This is one of the most commonly used tools on the K&N Air Filters website. It has been made easier to use and read, along with addition of a K&N part number search. The ability to search by part number has been present on the K&N site for quite some time. However, it was harder to find the search field, and a part number search could yield a dozen, or more, various results. While these product lines aren’t new, and they’ve probably always been on the K&N site, they have historically been hard to find. Previously these products were buried in a drop down menu, and required another step from the user by scrolling down the page to target what they needed. This new structure should make it easier for owners of hot rods and muscle cars to find K&N Custom Air Cleaner Assemblies, Heavy Duty Diesel owners to find K&N Washable Heavy Duty Replacement Air Filters for their semi-truck, bus, or RV, and even bring light to K&N Small Engine & Light Industrial Air & Oil Filters for generators, lawn mowers, or air compressors.
