2014 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Supercharged V8 with Street Legal Carbon Fiber Air Intake from K&N

K&N high performance, free flowing air intake system for 2014 Chevy Camaro ZL1

The K&N high performance, free flowing air intake system for 2014 Chevy Camaro ZL1 models is made almost completely out of light weight and super strong carbon fiber

The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS was already a formidable muscle car with a powerful 6.2 liter V8 engine churning out 425 horsepower, but Camaro owners wanted more. Camaro fans got their wish when GM’s performance division transplanted a version of the supercharged 6.2L LSA V8 into the Chevy Camaro. This gave birth to the ultimate Chevy Camaro known as the ZL1. With a tire shredding 580 horsepower and 556 lb-ft of torque, the Camaro ZL1 is not only a thrill to drive but also a super car worthy competitor. With magnetically controlled suspension and power like this, what more could ZL1 owner’s ask for? A 50-state street legal performance boost to keep up with rivals in the form of the Ford Mustang GT500 and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, of course.

1958-1962 Chrysler-Plymouth Air Filters Help Your Car Perform Better Than New

K&N E-1959 Replacement Air Filter for the Chrysler 300 and Plymouth Fury

Designed to work with original equipment vehicle electronics, the K&N E-1959 Replacement Air Filter is backed by a Million Mile Limited Warranty.

Originally produced for non-consumer purposes, the 1958 Chrysler 300 became the first American vehicle to generate 300 horsepower. It was actually a second-generation model, which covered the 1957-1958 model years. The engine featured 10.0:1 compression, stronger pistons, and new camshaft and valve timing. There was also a 392 Hemi engine available that included new technology and electronic fuel injection that produced 390 horsepower.

K&N 99-5000 Air Filter Cleaning Kit

The K&N 99-5000 Air Filter Cleaning Kit restores the airflow efficiency of the air filter so it can continue to improve your car’s performance.

Chrysler also produced the 300 Series “Letter Car,” a high performance luxury vehicle, from 1955 to 1965. A 300D was debuted in 1958. A 340 cubic-inch overhead V8 engine powered the vehicle, which also featured four-wheel power-assisted hydraulic brakes. The 300E came out in 1959 and was powered by a new 413 cubic-inch wedge V8, which produced 380 horsepower. The 1960 model was designated the 300F, which included a new 413 cubic inch wedge engine that delivered 375 horsepower. This vehicle included a special “cross-ram” intake manifold that helped boost power at lower and mid RPMs. In addition, Chrysler produced a special 400-horsepower version for competition.

The 1961 version was labeled the 300G. Powered by the same engine that ran the 300F, this model went through a restyle that included an inverted grille and quad headlights, formerly side-by-side, were angled inward at the bottom. The fins in the rear of the vehicle were made sharper. The taillights, which were previously on the fins, were moved to a location below the fins. The fins were gone when the 300H was introduced in 1962. Chrysler also introduced a 300 sport series that year that included three models –- a two- and four-door hardtop and a convertible. An inline dual 4-barrel carb engine was standard on the H.

The Plymouth Fury was introduced as a sub-series of the Plymouth Belvedere from 1956 through 1958. The model was sold only as a sandstone white two-door hardtop with gold anodized aluminum trim in 1956 and 1957. In 1958 it was offered in only Buckskin Beige with gold anodized aluminum trim. A 318 cubic-inch V-8 engine that produced 290-horsepower powered the vehicle. A 350 cubic-inch with two 4-bbl carburetors that generated 305 horsepower was offered as an option.

To many car enthusiasts who collect or like to read about old cars, the Chrysler 300 and Plymouth Fury are classics. For example, 1958 Chrysler 300D models sold at classic car auctions for $140,250 in 2007 and $203,500 in 2010.

A 1958 Plymouth Fury was featured in the 1982 Stephen King movie Christine.

Of course, owners of these cars would like to keep them in pristine condition and performing like new. K&N filters offers the K&N E-1959 air filter for these classic vehicles. The air filter is designed to increase horsepower and acceleration and can go up to 50,000 miles before cleaning, under normal highway driving conditions. They are washable, reusable, and designed to install into the car’s existing factory air box. Exchanging a new K&N E-1959 air filter for an old, worn out air filter is an easy process. Simply remove the old filter and drop in the E-1959 air filter.

The filter offers high airflow with exceptional filtration because of the way it is constructed. It features four to six layers of cotton gauze media sandwiched between two aluminum wire screens. The cotton media is treated with a specially formulated oil that will help the cotton gauze capture impurities before reaching your engine.

K&N also offers an air filter cleaning kit, which is formulated to clean the air filter and restore its filtration efficiency. That means that the air filter can be reused over and over again and may be the only air filter you will ever need to buy. The kit includes bottles of air filter cleaner and air filter oil and the oil is available in an aerosol or squeeze bottle formula.

K&N is so sure that the air filter can provide what’s described here that it backs it with an unprecedented 10-Year/Million Mile Limited Warranty.

The K&N E-1959 air filter will fit the following Chrysler 300 and Plymouth Fury models.
1962 CHRYSLER 300 413 V8 CARB - 2x4 barrel
1959 CHRYSLER 300 413 V8 CARB
1958 PLYMOUTH FURY 350 V8 CARB
1958 PLYMOUTH FURY 318 V8 CARB
1958 PLYMOUTH FURY 317 V8 CARB

2015 Ford Transit Air Filter May Be the Only One You Will Ever Need

K&N 33-5024 replacement air filter for Ford Transit

Designed to fit into the factory air box, the K&N 33-5024 replacement air filter is backed by a 10-Year/Million Mile Limited Warranty.

First introduced in 1965, the Ford Transit is primarily a cargo van that can also serve as a passenger van or minibus. The chassis can also serve as the base for a pickup truck. There have been five generations of the vehicle, which was the first product manufactured by Ford of Europe. It was marketed through Western Europe and Australia and by the end of the century was available worldwide. It was introduced into North America in 2013 and K&N was quick to produce the 33-5024 replacement air filter for the 2015 version of the Ford Transit.

It has been the best selling light commercial vehicle in Europe for 40 years. In some countries it introduced the term “transit” as a generic title for any light commercial van the size of this vehicle. Not only manufactured in Europe, the van is now also made in Asia and North America for worldwide sale.

The Transit has roots back to the Ford Taurus Transit van manufactured in Germany and introduced in 1953. A 1.3-liter inline-four engine from the Ford Taunus was used as the powerplant. In 1955 the engine capacity was increased to 1.5 liters.

The Transit was different from the European commercial vehicles of the day because it featured American-inspired styling. It had a wide track giving it an advantage over the European models in carrying heavier loads. Most of the components used in the van were adapted from Ford’s car lines of the time. Ford in Europe offered the van in a number of body styles including a panel van with a long or short wheelbase, a pickup truck, minibus, crew-cab and more.

K&N 99-5000 Air Filter Cleaner Kit

The K&N 99-5000 Air Filter Cleaner Kit can be used to clean the air filter so that it can be used practically forever.

A United Kingdom 1.7- or 2.0-liter Essex V-4 gasoline engine powered the first generation models from 1965 to 1978. The use of a short V-8 permitted Ford to minimize the length of the engine compartment in front of the driver. A diesel engine was also available as an option. This model had a longer front to accommodate the larger engine. However, the diesel engine was not popular because it was underpowered and a Ford York engine replaced it in 1974.

For consumers in mainland Europe, the German-made Ford 1.3-, 1.5-, 1.7- or 2.0-liter Taunus V-4 was used to power the van. The longer nose diesel version was also equipped with a Ford 3.0-liter Ford Essex V-6 engine that was made in the UK for high performance applications including vans used by police and ambulance services. In 1974 an inline 6-cylinder engine used on the Ford Falcon was also used.

An interesting side note is that the British Police reported that in the 1970s, 95 percent of all robberies in which the criminals used a vehicle involved the Ford Transit.

Ford of Europe and Ford in North America partnered to design the fifth and newest generation Transit. Ford offers it in two distinct body forms, mid-size front wheel drive and full size rear wheel driver. The exterior borrows from the fourth generation model and showcases a kinetic design used by the OneFord global models since 2010. The interior borrows from the third generation Ford Focus.

It is imperative that commercial vehicles perform well if for no other reason than businesses rely on their dependability. K&N offers the K&N 33-5024 replacement air filter for the 2015 models. These performance air filters are designed to improve horsepower and increases acceleration by using a high-flow washable cotton filter media. Durable and dependable, these air filters feature four to six layers of cotton gauze media sandwiched between two aluminum wire screens. The cotton media is treated with a specially formulated grade of filter oil that causes the cotton strands to become tacky so that the filter can catch impurities while still flowing clean air to your engine.

Cleaning the air filter is easy to do with the K&N filter cleaning kit. The package includes cleaner and air filter oil to restore the air filter’s efficiency. K&N is so sure of the reliability of these air filters that it offers an extraordinary 10-Year/Million Mile Limited Warranty.

The K&N 33-5024 replacement air filter fits the following models of the Ford Transit:
2015 Ford Transit 350 HD 3.7L V6
2015 Ford Transit 350 HD 3.5L V6

2003-2016 Subaru K&N Replacement Air Filter Meets Vehicle's Clean-Air Needs

K&N 33-2304 Replacement Air Filter fits more than 230 models of 2003-2016 Subaru vehicles

The nearly square K&N 33-2304 Replacement Air Filter fits more than 230 models of 2003-2016 Subaru vehicles.

Raise your hand if you or your service shop have changed your car's air filter this year. Why might we not be seeing a big show of hands? Today's fuel-injected engines are so efficient and carbureted engines are so decreasingly prevalent, air filter service is not top of mind. Generally replacing or cleaning the air filter is called for about every 50,000 miles, or about every four years, depending on driving conditions.

For the millions of us who have a 2003-2016 Subaru as a daily driver, air filter service is certainly not a daily concern. In the American southwest and drier regions of South America, Asia, Australia, and North Africa we may think about it a bit more. Or, if we're doing some club racing or local rally driving, we are certainly attuned to the clean-air needs of our Subi's naturally aspirated flat four-cylinder boxer and turbocharged diesels.

For many years, K&N has made performance products available for Subaru vehicles from model years 1998 through 2011 worldwide, for engines from the 1.8L through 3.6L, and the 2.0L hybrid. Today K&N is also manufacturing the 33-2304 replacement air filter for the range of Subaru vehicles built from 2003 to 2016 (see the K&N applications list below and online). That's a lot of cars now able to benefit from K&N's unique and effective air filter design and engineering, something they've been perfecting since the 1960s.

Subaru engine compartment with K&N air filter

Most of the Subaru airboxes are in the front of the engine compartment and replacing the air filter is easily accomplished with no special tools.

Now, when it comes time to service the air filter, more than 230 models of Impreza, WRX, Outback, Legacy, Crosstrek, Forester, and Tribeca (plus certain Chrysler 300C and Fiat Thema diesels), the washable, reusable K&N 33-2304 replacement air filter can be the part of choice.

These distinctive all-wheel drive vehicles, all aimed at efficiency while being fun to drive, can be found everywhere on the world stage. Be it the Outback performing family wagon duties; the Legacy offering comfortable commutes; or the Tribeca spiriting you and six friends to the slopes for ski weekends, Subaru will be there.

Dream of your Forester crossover crossing the Sahara in the Dakar; envision your WRX burning up a Formula Drift course; imagine your Impreza sedan sidling up to the Prada store on Rodeo Drive, then give it fresh-flowing air with the 33-3204. It is designed to give your car better acceleration, boost the horsepower, and provide better filtration than the stock filter, without voiding a new-vehicle warranty. Its 10-Year/Million-Mile Warranty make it the last replacement air filter you'll need.

Caption

Clean and recharge the K&N 33-2304 air filter using the cleaner and recharger oil in the 90-5050 Filter Care Service Kit.

The airboxes on most of these vehicles are easily found in the front of the engine compartment (consult your owner's manual, and the installation instructions). They have clip closures on top and the intake hose doesn't need to be removed. The stock filter is removed and the K&N dropped back into the space. It is that simple.

Mark your calendar and when it's time to clean the filter, use K&N's 90-5000 filter care service kit. The recommended time frame is about every 50,000 miles, under normal highway driving conditions, but servicing can be performed more frequently if you got your wish to run that rally. The cotton gauze filter material can be sprayed with K&N's Power Kleen cleaner, rinsed, dried, and sprayed with recharging oil before replacing it in the airbox.

With this maintenance system you won't fill up the landfill with disposable filters and your Subaru will be breathing deeply for years to come.

David Haagsma from H&M Motorsports Wins SxS Pro Class at WORCS Lake Havasu

Caption

Recently, David switched to side-by-side racing. He prefers it due to the lessened possibility of injury.

David Haagsma, member of the H&M Motorsports team finished first in the SxS Pro Class at WORCS Round Four race in Lake Havasu, California, on March 23, 2016. It was his second win of the season.

Haagsma took control of the race in the first lap and was never seriously challenged. In four races in the WORCS circuit so far this season, he has won two and dropped out with mechanical problems in two.

High flying Haagsma is no stranger to racing. He has been racing professionally since he was 11 years old.

He finished 18th in the Second Round of the Texas National at Kemp, Texas on April 7, 2016. The race is part of the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship Series where he earned 9 points. He also finished seventh in the Third Round of the ATV Spring Nationals at Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tennessee on April 21, 2016 and picked up 29 points.

A K&N Filters’ sponsored racer, Haagsma races a Honda TRX-450 side-by-side in the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship Series and a Polaris RZR in WORCS.

Now 23 years old, Haagsma has been racing for 18 or 19 years. First starting on motorcycles, he has been riding motorcycles or ATVs since he was 4 years old.

"My dad was into motorcycles and he showed me how to ride. He bought me a dirt bike when I was about 4 years old," he said.

He noted that he got into riding ATVs because of his friends. "My friends had ATVs," he said. "So I ended up riding a quad with them. I quit racing bikes and joined my friends racing quads and I really got into it. It got to be pretty competitive in the local team events and then I decided to go to bigger races. I did pretty good and decided to stick with it."

His first race was in Taft, California, not too far from his home in Bakersfield, California, when he was about 11 or 12 years old. "It was a flat track race on a quad. I didn’t finish because I ran out of gas. I rode the quad all day and then went out to race," he quipped. "My dad’s friends still make fun of him, but it was a good memory."

He won his first race about two weeks later. It was an ATV quad race in the kids’ class. He turned pro when he was 11 years old. "I watched the pro racers and thought that it was something I always wanted to do. I did well in the amateur class, so I went pro. I started making money and I really enjoyed it. When it happened it was pretty cool."

He has been racing in WORCS since he was 16 years old. This is his first year racing in the AMA Nationals. He won the WORCS championship last year. Although he continues to race the WORCS circuit, he is now focusing more on the Nationals. He noted that there are more races in an AMA Nationals series and the competition is tougher. He is in seventh or eight place overall, but expects to do better in the remaining races and to have better results in the circuit next year.

As a pro he seeks out sponsors and has found the task to be fairly easy. He got his first by emailing the company. "They’re one of my biggest sponsors to date. When I was 13 I just sent them an email and they started giving me discounts on their products. They called me, helped me out with my racing and I started getting better results."

"I started gaining attention among people in the industry, I met a lot of people and I networked," he added.

He noted that many of the sponsors he gathered when he was 13 and 14 years old are still with him today.

K&N Filters was one of his first sponsors. "I thought they were out of reach for quads," he said. "But I was able to get them and I have been with them for multiple years. I ran their products before they sponsored me. I bought them. After I got the sponsorship I get products from them for free.

"It’s working out great," he continued. "I run their air filters on everything, both the quad and RZR. Anything I ask for I get pretty much the next day. The relationship with them has been really good. I’ve even had my ATVs featured in some K&N ads."

His future plans are to continue racing in the AMA ATV Motocross Nationals. "I really enjoy running side-by-side. Side-by-sides are getting really popular. It’s a lot of fun and there is less chance of injury," he said.

He wants to race as long as he can. "As long as I make money at it and as long as I can afford to do it I will keep doing it," he concluded.
