The Honda Civic hybrid is one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles on the road.
Tailpipe emissions on the Honda Civic are very low and many shoppers choose
hybrids to minimize the impact on the environment. Overall, hybrid sales in the
United States have grown from 9500 in 2000 to over 200,000 in 2005.
K&N's Replacement Air Filter for the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Honda Civic 1.3L
K&N Engineering has designed a new lifetime replacement air filter (33-2338)
for the 2003, 2004, and 2005 Honda Civic 1.3L L4 F/1 Honda Civic. For more than
35 years we've manufactured serious air filters completely unlike traditional
disposable filters.
The K&N high flow air filter is washable, reusable and built to last
for the life of an automotive engine. The filter consists of four sheets
of cotton gauze layered between two sheets of aluminum wire mesh. The media is
then pleated and oiled to enhance its filtering capabilities and overall
performance.
K&N filter's are environmentally friendly and reduce the volume of disposable
air filters that end up in landfills. The federal government is currently
offering tax incentives for Hybrid Electric Vehicle's (HEV's) and other
alternative fuel vehicles.
The Honda Civic Hybrid combines the best features of the internal combustion
engine with an electric motor. HEV's also convert energy normally wasted during
coasting and breaking into electricity, which is stored in a battery until
needed by the electric motor. The electric motor is used to assist the engine
when accelerating or hill climbing and in low-speed driving conditions where
internal combustion engines are lest efficient.
K&N's replacement air filters are designed to increase horsepower and
acceleration while providing excellent filtration. Our stock replacement air
filters for street vehicles are covered by our famous K&N Million-Mile Limited
Warranty and will be the last air filter your vehicle will ever need.
The 2006 racing season is great so far for NHRA Gatornationals Super Stock
winner Peter Biondo. He said he's very happy with his performance in
Gainesville, Florida where he also won 4 rounds in Stock.
Peter Biondo's 2000 Firebird
Biondo drove his 2000 Firebird with a 400 cubic inch Pontiac engine and
his 2005 World Championship winning Camaro at the Gators. “I won World in NHRA
Stock Eliminator in my 1969 Camaro,” said Biondo.
The 34-year-old from Queens, New York uses K&N Engineering products in all his
vehicles. “My favorite is the K&N Performance Gold Oil Filter (HP-5001),”
he said. “The K&N filter is easy to take off and put back on. I’ve never had a
filter stuck with K&N because of the one inch nut on the canister. All I need is
a wrench.”
In 2005, Biondo had a very successful season. With 5 National Event and 5
Divisional Event victories he also shattered the NHRA record with 792 total
points.
“I use K&N oil and air filters on all by cars, including my dragster. I also use
K&N’s Fuel Injection Performance Kits (FIPK),” said Biondo. “One of my tow
vehicles is a Cadillac Escalade and I noticed more power and better gas mileage
on my way to and from races. The K&N products work great by keeping dirt out of
all our engines.”
Peter Biondo's 2005 World Championship Winning Camaro
This year, Biondo plans to put a lot more emphasis on high dollar bracket
races where he will run his 2004 Race Tech dragster. He also plans on attending
10 NHRA national events and a minimum of 5 NHRA divisional events.
“My next race in the dragster is in Memphis, Tennessee,” Biondo said. “The top
prize is $100,000, let’s face it, I have a one-in-250 chance of winning. I’m
going to give it a real try.”

Saab is known for its advanced technology. The car was born from the aircraft
industry and the Swedish auto company goes out of its way to make sure buyers
are aware of those bragging rights.
K&N's Lifetime Replacement Air Filter for 2004 to 2011 Saab 9-3
K&N Engineering has released a new lifetime replacement air filter (33-2337) for the
2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Saab 9-3 2.0L L4 and the 2006 to 2011 Saab 9-3 2.8L V6. The washable, reusable, high flow flat panel filter was tested on K&N's dyno and the power gain fell in line with what K&N typically sees for replacement filters.
Saab of Santa Ana, California carries K&N products for its Saab customers. "K&N
is one of the few aftermarket parts we carry," said parts manager Scott
Pritchett. "K&N filters are a highly recognizable product that customers want."
Pritchett said many of the mechanics at the dealership have K&N High Flow Air
Intake Kits on their personal vehicles. "K&N makes outstanding products, and K&N
products add value to our product, the Saab," he said.
The K&N filter is custom designed to fit in your existing factory air box.
Simply remove the disposable air filter and replace it with a K&N.
"Our mechanics will install K&N filters for our car customers," said Pritchett.
"We have not received one complaint and we are very happy K&N now has filters
available for our newer cars."

famous K&N Million-Mile Warranty and will be the last air filter your vehicle
will ever need.
Erion Racing’s Josh Hayes held off Yamaha’s Jason DiSalvo in a nine-lap shootout
to come in second in the Daytona 200 By Honda at Daytona International Speedway.
Jake Zemke of American Honda won the event.
Team Erion's Josh Hayes
Hayes was delighted to come in second. “The good news is American Honda is
not racing in that class for the rest of the season,” said team owner Kevin
Erion. “The other good news is we beat Yamaha.” Erion Racing is American Honda’s
official factory-supported race team.
Erion Racing used K&N Engineering’s Performance Replacement Air Filter (HA-6003)
on its CBR600RR at Daytona. “The K&N filter performed superbly,” said Kevin. “We
did not change it at all during the difficult 200 mile Daytona race.”
Motorcycle road racing is a demanding motorsport. “The AMA Superbike Series puts
the riders to the test. Competitors are in peak physical condition and must cope
with extreme demands of repetitive G-loads endured during maximum breaking,
wrestle lightweight, maximum-horsepower machines through high-speed corners at
the limit of traction and multi-process thousands of information bits received
through their hands, feet, knees, ears and eyes in mere fractions of a second,”
states a news release from Team Erion.
“We now know we can beat Yamaha, a full-factory team with a lot more money,”
said Kevin. “They are coming into every race with a huge economic scale and its
own in-house racing program. For instance, if we spend one million, they will
spend six or seven million and we have to compete against that.”
The K&N motorcycle filter allows us to push the envelope and get more horsepower, Kevin
said. “We have seen performance gains on our dynamometer, up to a 2 hp gain with
the K&N filter,” he said. “Anytime we can gain horsepower with the K&N filter
it’s cost effective.”
Team Erion's Honda CBR600RR
Kevin Erion was a competitive AMA rider in the late 1980s, winning two AMA
Pro Twins championships. His Team Erion has an impressive record in AMA road
racing. In the AMA’s big-bore Formula Xtreme Series, Erion Racing posted nine of
nine race wins in 1999; the most consecutive races won by a single rider (Kurtis
Roberts, six in 2000); the most consecutive pole positions (eight in 2000); and
the most class championships, four in five years. The team also won two 600
Supersport championships with the Honda CBR600 series.
In 2006, Team Erion is going after its first AMA Superstock title. “We’re
excited to be part of the K&N family,” said Kevin. “The K&N products fits the
model of Erion Racing, both are well constructed.”

The 2006 IHRA Mr. Gasket Pro-Am Tour is underway and Duck Tape Racing is working
on the championship chase.
Duck Tape Racing's 1980 Volare 360
Racer Michael Beard uses a K&N oil filter and K&N air cleaner on the teams
I/CM (I crate motor class) 1980 Stock Eliminator Volare. “The tracks are dusty
and we need K&N products to keep the dirt out of the engine,” said Beard. “They
work great.”
Beard wrote in an e-mail, “The Rockingham, North Carolina event is in the books.
In preparation for the new season, Sloan Racing Engines built a new 360 Magnum
crate motor for the Volare. We tested the new combination first at the
RaceWorks.com Spring Blast where over 3500 spectators and 400 racers enjoyed
excellent conditions, until the rain came. On the car’s maiden voyage, it ran a
7.08 in the 1/8 mile. Testing continued at Piedmont Dragway in Greensboro, North
Carolina, we netted a best of 6.99 at 97 mph in the 1/8 mile, well below the
current I/CM class World Record of a 7.15.”
To get from race to race Duck Tape Racing uses K&N Fuel Injection Performance
Kits (FIPK) and K&N Performance Oil Filters (HP-3002)
on its tow vehicles. “We pick up tow power on our 1997 C3500 Chevy Dually
because of the K&N filter,” said Beard.
“Rockingham, North Carolina opened its gates to 384 race teams for the Mr.
Gasket Pro-Am Tour the first weekend in March. The Volare began its record hunt
with a 7.05 right off the trailer. In order to officially claim a World Record,
the run must be backed up with a second run within 1% (a 7.12 in this case),”
Beard wrote. “Driver error led to an off-pace 7.144 on the back-up run, but
because it was still quicker than the record, the 7.05 provided the back-up for
a slower run. We now hold the I/CM World Record at 7.144. The record also gives
us 5 bonus points in the championship chase.”
Duck Tape Racing's 2000 Dakota Quad Cab
Michael Beard also runs his 2000 Dakota Quad Cab 4.7L in Bracket Racing
during the season. “I picked up 0.2 seconds in the quarter mile,” said Beard.
“With the K&N FIPK (57-1516KP)
gas mileage improved, we picked up ½ mile on the gallon and the Dakota’s
performance was better overall.”
Duck Tape Racing hopes to do well at the Piedmont Dragway 1/8 mile IHRA
Dragstrip near Julian, North Carolina, said Beard.
“K&N filters are compact and easy to maneuver,” said Beard. “The K&N products
are well built and easy to install. We use K&N oil filters on all our team
vehicles.”
