Designed to haul huge loads and traverse the toughest of trails, industrial
strength Ford Super-Duty class trucks are made to be brawny workhorses. These diesel
rigs come in a wide array of engine and cab configurations, with interior style
and comfort.
The Harley Davidson Edition is also part of the Super Duty line. The Powerstroke
diesel F-250 or F-350 is available in a two tone layout that features flames
across the rocker panels and brightly polished 20-inch wheels.
K&N Replacement Air Filter for Ford F-250, F350 Super Duty and Excursion
K&N Engineering has made a new lifetime Replacement Air
Filter (E-0780)
for the Ford Super-Duty (2003-2007) truck line-up. It incorporates a new air box
as well as a replacement filter. Once the OE filter and housing is removed the K&N
Replacement Air Filter and air box connects in its place.
"It replaces the entire system," said David Shushereba, K&N Director of Research
and Development. "It is also very different from the K&N Fuel Injection
Performance Kits we manufacture. Our FIPK's replace the entire system but do not
include an airbox."
K&N engineers designed the
E-0780 to
be more in line with Ford's OE equipment. "We wanted a filter that was similar
to the OE with a replacement air box," said Shushereba. "K&N's Airbox is less
restrictive than the OE filter."
Unlike disposable filters, K&N Air Filters use a unique pleated design comprised
of an oiled cotton fabric sandwiched between layers of epoxy-coated aluminum
screen. These filters capture airborne dirt particles while allowing high volume
air flow. These particles then cling to the outside of the filter and become
part of the filtering media.
"The filter that comes with the Ford Super-Duty is bonded into the airbox. With
the Ford filter the entire airbox has to be replaced when it's time to buy a new
filter," said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. "Our K&N new lifetime
Replacement Air Filter (E-0780)
is designed with a new Airbox. It's easy to slide our filter out, clean our
washable and reusable filter, and put it back in the K&N Airbox."
The washable, reusable high flow K&N Air Filter is designed to increase
horsepower and acceleration while providing excellent filtration. This
Replacement Air Filter with Airbox, like all K&N Air Filters for street
vehicles, is covered by our famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty and will be
the last air filter your truck will ever need.
K&N Engineering's MX XStream Filters (HA-4503XD),
(YA-2506XD), (KA-2506XD) and (KA-2504)
are now approved for use in Stock Classes. Amateur racers planning to race Ponca
City, Oklahoma or Loretta Lynn's in Tennessee have been concerned, wondering if
the K&N Filtration System would be allowed in "Stock" Class Competition at these
National Level Amateur Events.
K&N Engineering's MX XStream Top Air Filter
The American Motorcycle Association and National
Motosport Association said the K&N MX Stream Top Filters are legal for the 125
and 250 Stock Classes. K&N's MX Stream-Top Air Filter is a two piece design that
does not use the stock air filter cage, however it includes a built in Back-Fire
Screen that acts as an approved flame arrestor.
"If you remove your OEM Air Filter Cage and Back-Fire Screen, but replace it
with a K&N, which includes the built-in back fire screen, you are okay for NMA
Sanctioned Events," said Ron Henricksen of the National Motosport Association.
"As long as you are running a Back-Fire Screen and the Air Box is in tact, you
are legal by NMA standards."
Motorcycles cannot be altered in Stock Class races. The only exceptions or
changes in the stock class that will be allowed are the Air Breather may be
removed or replaced and the air box may be drilled or replaced.
"K&N Filters will be legal in all stock classes, provided they are used in an
unaltered OEM airbox," said AMA Sports Motocross Manager Ryan Holliday.
"Removing a backfire screen that is attached to the airbox is not legal in stock
classes. Supplemental rule # 24 from MX Sports address this issue: Aftermarket
air filters may be used in the OEM unaltered air box."
The Ford "Super Duty" model was redesigned in 2005. Changes include a new
interior, new grille, factory installed trailer brake controller and upgraded
engines.

an outside width of 7.25 inches (184mm).

more than 35 years ago.
