The NASCAR K&N Pro Series (NKNPS) West King Taco Catering/NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, California featured 10 lead changes among four drivers. Of those four drivers Chris Eggleston, a 26-year old from Colorado, led a race-high 102 laps. As the race wound down Ryan Partridge, in the number 9 Eibach Springs/Sunrise Ford car, was able to take the lead from Eggleston on lap 124.

A late race caution signaled a restart giving Eggleston the opportunity to make his move to regain the lead. With 6 laps remaining in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West King Taco Catering/NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, California Eggleston edged past Partridge taking Dalton Sargeant with him.

In just his seventh career NASCAR K&N Pro Series start Chris Eggleston has been able to capture two wins

Dalton Sargeant, a 17-year old Florida native, drives for HScott Motorsports in the NKNPS East series and has earned himself a seat with the first-year team Jefferson Pitts Racing in the NKNPS West series. Sargeant had the fastest qualifying time of the day with a lap time of 18.259 seconds at 98.582 MPH. In an attempt to take the lead Sargeant let female driver Nicole Behar past him on the last lap. Dalton Sargeant crossed the line in third place with Gracin Raz and Ryan Partridge rounding out the top five respectively.

Behar, who is a Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender, finished in second behind Eggleston which marks the highest finish for a female driver in the series’ history. Of her second place finish Nicole Behar said “Going into the night we didn’t know what we were going to do. Save tires or go for it. With 75 (laps) to go we decided we wanted to go for it. With that last caution we gave it everything we had.”

In just his seventh career NASCAR K&N Pro Series start Eggleston has been able to capture two wins. His previous win came at his hometrack, Colorado National Speedway, in 2014. After the race Chris Eggleston said “It was a great night overall. I was so nervous coming into this race with limited practice. Having never been here and going up against veterans I knew it was going to be tough.”

With two races completed in the 2015 season Dalton Sargeant leads the points chase followed by Eggleston and David Mayhew.The next NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race will be at Arizona's Tucson Speedway for the Wildcat 150 on Saturday, May 2.
