Carbon fiber, as a raw material, has been treated to handle heat from below 0 to 2500 degrees Fahrenheit. In most cases the limiting factor is the matrix or resin system, not the reinforcement material such as carbon fiber, fiberglass or Kevlar. Epoxies are no longer a simple brush on mix of basic compounds. Chemists have spent years maximizing the function of the matrix by blending epoxies with ceramics and a number of other ingredients. It is a precise science where strength, durability, function and temperature all have to be considered. Our products are engineered with specific resin systems for application specific needs. These products must take into consideration such things as: fire retardant resins, ceramic blends to handle high heat and flexible systems for damage tolerance.
